Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be watched from a distance constantly. Multiple teams have also been set in adjacent towns to stop any suspected impending suicide attempts, and SCP Personel are to be placed undercover as therapists in order to lower the rate of suicide.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a stick approximately 61 centimeters in length placed into the ground. SCP-XXXX is found at a rocky shoreline in Cornwall, England west from st. Ives. SCP-XXXX is found about 2 meters from the shoreline. And is composed assumedly of oak wood.

At this time it is assumed that said object cannot be removed from the ground. Attempts at removal have been made, and upon attempted shifting or removing, SCP-XXXX will display a Class I Cognitohazard. Any humanoid subject to have attempted removal upon this entity will begin to feel immense dissatisfaction in themselves or the world that they live in.

SCP-XXXX has led to multiple suicide attempts from villagers in towns nearby and SCP Personel or D-Class who have made contact with the SCP.

At one point a team was sent to dig the soil out from around the SCP. Contact was soon lost with the entire team immediately as the digging began. An armed team was them sent to survey what had happened to the previous team, no trace of them were discovered at the location of the SCP, but a single drop of blood ran down the side of the SCP, when tested, the DNA of the blood didn’t match anyone in the foundation’s database.

Note From Author: This SCP is very nostalgic to me, it reminds me of stories my grandfather used to tell me when I was a kid, about King Arthur and the sword in the stone. However, seeing how testing is going with the D-Class who have tried to pull the stick out of the ground, I doubt we’ll ever find our King Arthur. I can’t help but feel a certain urge to pull it. Who knows, maybe I’m the chosen one.

Addendum: Dr.███████¹ was found dead in his office, one week after a trip to England to study SCP-XXXX, after a gunshot was heard in the east wing of Site ██. An apparent suicide note was found on his desk.

Dr.███████'s Suicide Note: "I was wrong, there is no Chosen One or True King. The stick sees us all and spits at us in disgust, it judges if we are worthy, but none are. Large gap in writing. There’s something on the other end, pulling it down. I could feel it. Contain this SCP. Burn it. Conceal it in concrete. Do not let anyone near it unless you too want to be submitted to its judgment. Another Large gap in writing. I’m going to have to tell my grandfather about this when I see him. He deserves to know the truth."
