Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedure: Item SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a hermetically sealed 5-centimeter thick glass casing, this case is to be filled with H2O at all times, with a lack of moisture SCP-XXXX will become active and seek the closest source of moisture. Failure to do so might result in a containment breach. A minimum of 1 armed guard must be stationed outside at all times and entrance to the containment zone is not permitted unless approved by level 3 personnel or above.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a black eyeball with a white ring circling the midsection of the eyeball between the pupil and the optic nerve, the pupil is white, the optic nerve of SCP-XXXX is black.
When removed from a host SCP-XXXX demonstrates no anomalies and appears to be simply a strangely colored eyeball. When faced with a subject who is missing an eye SCP-XXXX will move to and fill the hole where the subjects eye would be, if the subjects eye socket is sealed or stitched shut SCP-XXXX will forcibly enter the subjects eye socket and position itself with the pupil facing outward. At this time subjects will experience a burning sensation in the eye socket SCP-XXXX is inhabiting. Any attempts to remove SCP-XXXX after this occurrence is futile, after the eye sockets burning sensation subsides, the organism containing SCP-XXXX is now classified as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX operates as a normal eye for SCP-XXXX-1 if SCP-XXXX-1 makes eye contact with any other organism, the organism that made eye contact with SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to experience severe burns all over their body, in all cases the burning does not subside until the organism is completely disintegrated.
The only known way of removing SCP-XXXX is forcing SCP-XXXX-1 to make eye contact with their self through the use of a mirror, at this time SCP-XXXX-1 will experience the same severe burning and be completely disintegrated until SCP-XXXX is all that remains.
In the event that SCP-XXXX does not receive moisture of any kind within 4 hours, it will travel to the closest eye socket or liquid, in the event it finds an eye socket with an eye present, the organisms eye will be ripped our forcibly and replaced with SCP-XXXX, removal procedure is the same. In the event SCP-XXXX-1 dies of any means that are not a result of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX will remain in the subjects eye socket until eye contact with itself is made, the corpse of SCP-XXXX-1 will not decay in any way until SCP-XXXX disintegrates it.
In the event of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX will drain the bodily fluid of SCP-XXXX at the same rate as the host produces it, this is speculated to be a method of preservation of SCP-XXXX although further testing is required.
