Photograph taken of SCP-XXXX by a civilian three days prior to first instance of activity
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Clearance Level: Restricted
Disruption Class: Keneq
Risk Class: Notice
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be left in a containment cell made of reinforced steel spanning 5 Meters by 5 Meters1 and 6 Meters2 thick on all sides within Site-██, also donning a set of reinforced doors that would allow entry and exit out u. The room is to also include audio and video surveillance on the item at all times in case of activity (See Description). Interaction with SCP-XXXX is not to be permitted for any personnel who is currently scheduled for termination unless accompanied by no fewer than two armed guards. It must be located through observing video surveillance online and then retrieved manually by MTF Pi-1 and brought back to containment. Due to the nature of its activity, there is currently no perceived way to keep SCP-XXXX contained permanently.
Description:SCP-XXXX, named Stairway To Somewhere6, is a set of twelve fully granite blocks that are in the formation of stairsteps. Each block is identical in composure and they all span ten inches in length, forty five and a half inches in width, and eight inches in height. They are not physically connected to each other, but attempting to lift a stair will have it be treated as such. Each block has been weighed to be 361 pounds, which results in the overall SCP having a weight of 4,332 pounds.
It has been observed that it sports a secondary trait, as the SCP is visibly able to instantly shift in location from one place to another. It's shifts can span to having the SCP go from one side of the world to the other side, but all shifts recorded have been on land and not on water. The reasoning for this nature is unknown and being investigated. The timing for the shifts are perceived to be completely random, but it is proven that a shift will happen at least once every forty-eight hours. The shifts have also shown that, if needed, the SCP is fully able to defy the laws of gravity. As it has been observed that a shift is able to result with Stairway To Somewhere's location being on a wall as if it was the ground
Test A - 08/08/████
Subjects: Two Pi-1 Operatives and Two D-Class Personell
Procedure: The Four Subjects were instructed to stand on top of Stairway To Somewhere at various steps and wait for a shift to occur. The D-Class were previously informed that the Pi-1 Operatives were armed and had orders to terminate the D-Class at first sign of escape
Results: D-4377, who was standing upright on the first step before the shift, ended up in a sitting position on the sixth step. D-5532, who was sitting down on the fourth step and looking to the left, ended up sitting in the same place but looking to the right. Pi-1 Operative A was standing on the eleventh step before the shift, ended up in standing in the same place but had their handgun in their hands aiming at the middle of D-4337's occipital bone. Pi-1 Operative B was in a sitting position on the eight step and their position was unaffected
Analysis: The SCP is fully able to manipulate and change the positioning of all items, alive or not alive, on top of it as long as the amount of items is greater than four.
