Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a secure storage locker in site-81. Access requires Clearance 3 and permission from lead researcher. Access to be supervised by 2 security personnel instructed not to read object. Testing requires Clearance 3 and permission from lead researcher and Site Director.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an approximately 1000 page book with a brown cover. Object is written in several different languages with the most common being Old Norse and Slavonic. Preliminary translations have revealed the object is a type of Cryptozoology Encyclopedia. All effort to locate records of subjects listed in object have so far proven unsuccessful.

SCP-XXX-1 appears to be a human male. The only record of subject shows SCP-XXXX-1 wearing a brown and cowboy hat. Both made of unknown materials but appear to be a leather analogue. Subject appears to be armed with various types of weaponry. Further testing required to determine construction and operation of devices. See Addenda XXXX.1 Exploration Log.
