Interviewer: Dr. Amanda Clark
After deliberation with qualified Foundation faculty, D-3884's exposure to SCP-XXXX was increased to six hours and was promptly interviewed.
[BEGIN LOG]
D-3884 is noticeably uncomfortable and anxious upon starting the interview.
Dr. Clark: Thank you for participating with additional experimentation, D-3884. Once again, I'd like to ask you a few questions about your experience.
D-3884: Alright.
Dr. Clark: Describe in your own words what SCP-XXXX is.
D-3884: It's nothing special… I mean it's special to m- or, at least… it WAS special to me. At one point. But it would be VERY special to someone else. I'm sure of it. Just not me.
Dr. Clark: What makes it so special?
D-3884: Because it was given to me! It was a gift. From a long time ago. I was so young, maybe 10? Doesn't matter. But it was very special.
Dr. Clark: So it was given to you? By who?
D-3884: Well, at first, I found it, but then they gave it to me. Told me I should share it with other people.
Dr. Clark: Who gave you SCP-XXXX?
D-3884: Who? Not sure. But someone important. I need to find them. I need to go back.
Dr. Clark: Go back where?
D-3884: Back. To where I found it. My parent's house. In Kentucky.
Dr. Clark: So you found it in your childhood home?
D-3884: Not IN the house. In the woods nearby.
Dr. Clark: How did you come across SCP-XXXX?
D-3884: My dad would take me fishin on Saturdays. That was when he had time, anyway. Before the mines reopened… Once that happened, he worked most weekends. Didn't go fishin anymore…
Dr. Clark: Please answer the question D-3884
D-3884: We tried to go fishin one day he was free. But the pond had been sludged up. Runoff from the mine killed all the fish and-
Dr. Clark: D-3884, concentrate on the question.
D-3884: Wha? Oh. Sorry. Well, my mom wasn't around back then and I didn't have many friend. Used to roam around the woods on those weekends. Try to find something to do. Would make shitty bows and arrows out of sticks. Try to hunt squirrels…
Dr. Clark: And you encountered SCP-XXXX in the area?
D-3884: Found this creek I'd never really seen before. Started to follow it, it was an early Saturday so I had time to kill. Creek took me to this spring. Water was clear as glass. It was beautiful. Clean. Warm even. In the middle of Kentucky hill country… who'd a thought?… Saw a big pile of rocks in the middle. That's where I found it.
Dr. Clark: I see. What happened next?
D-3884: I got this feeling. A kinda tingling. Like I wasn't supposed to be there. Like I was trespassin or somethin. Then I heard this… voice? Wasn't sure if it spoke at all, but I heard it… in my head. Told me things.
Dr. Clark: What did it tell you?
D-3884: It said, "Share my gift with them".
Dr. Clark: And SCP-XXXX was that gift?
D-3884: Yea… Not sure how I knew that. But I knew it. Ya know? I waded into the center of the spring and took the gift. Only took one. Didn't want to be greedy.
Dr. Clark: Who spoke to you?
D-3884: I don't know. Didn't see anyone. Just the water… it was so beautiful.
Dr. Clark: Did it tell you anything else?
D-3884: Yea. One last thing. I had my gift and was about to leave. And it spoke again. "Then come bathe in my water".
Dr. Clark: What did it mean by that?
D-3884: Not sure. But I need to go back. Find out.
Dr. Clark: You mentioned that before. Why do you need to go back?
D-3884: I- I- I don't know. I just need to go back. I need to see it again. Will you let me go?
Dr. Clark: That is to be determined.
D-3884: Please… you can have my gift. I was supposed to share it with you. Just let me go. Just let me go. Jus-
Dr. Clark: That's enough, D-3884. This interview is concluded. You will be returned to your cell.
D-3884 is ushered out of the interview room. He can be heard whispering, "Just let me go" as he is escorted down the hall.
