Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Provisional Site-217 was constructed in the immediate area surrounding SCP-XXXX-A's entrance under the guise of wildlife conservation efforts. Agents embedded within local governing bodies are to ensure it remains viewed as such by the public. A security perimeter is to be maintained at a five kilometer radius around SCP-XXXX-A, with a detachment of no fewer than three (3) members of site security armed with incendiary weaponry monitoring the complex's main entrance at all times. Security personnel are to attempt to capture any instance of SCP-XXXX-C-1 observed exiting SCP-XXXX-A. If capture is not feasible, or should subjects prove overtly aggressive, lethal action is authorized. In the occurrence of a Breach Event (See: Documentation on SCP-XXXX-B) personnel are instructed to suppress instances of SCP-XXXX-C-1 and 2 until the manifestation of SCP-XXXX-C-3, after which point they are to focus their efforts on maintaining perimeter until such a time as all entities have either returned to SCP-XXXX-B or been terminated. Due to the site's remote location, as well as the naturally harsh terrain surrounding it, civilian traffic through the area is minimal. For this reason, any person(s) found to have entered the site's security perimeter are to be detained for questioning, and administered class B-amnestics before release at the discretion of the On-Site Chief of Security. (Currently Dr. ██████ Spencer)

Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective designation for a subterranean complex located approximately twenty km outside ██████, Russia (SCP-XXXX-A) and the anomalous items and entities found within.

SCP-XXXX-A was built within a naturally formed cave network, with analysis of the architecture used in its constructed portions suggesting a conglomeration of Byzantine and Sarkic influence. The bulk of SCP-XXXX-A is thought to have been constructed sometime between 900-1100 A.D., however a dramatic shift in both architectural style and materials used in it's lowest portions speak to their having been built much later, perhaps as recently as the past decade. Given the site's remote location and harsh climate it is currently unknown how such construction could have taken place.

While the entirety of SCP-XXXX-A has yet to be mapped by foundation personnel, initial projections estimate it to span at least 800 meters in diameter and as much as 500 meters in depth. Several samples of writing recovered from the structure as well as first hand accounts of it's exploration (See: Interviews XXXX-1 through 6) suggest its use as a ceremonial site by practitioners of a previously unencountered sect of Sarkicism: The Ka'lin Detva or 'The Children of Unity'. Research into the group's origin and history are ongoing.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered on 5/15/199█ following Foundation resources becoming aware of a potential link between a string of missing persons reports in the immediate vicinity of ██████, Russia and reported Sarkic activity in the area. Following the discovery of SCP-XXXX-A's entrance by local agents, MTF Sigma-9("Meat Cleavers") was called in to investigate the structure.

Approximately two hours into their investigation Sigma-9 reported engagement with several unknown hostile entities. Contact with all members was subsequently lost, and Foundation recovery teams were called in. Following their arrival, five of the six members of Sigma-9 were discovered within SCP-XXXX-A's main chamber, each demonstrating several shallow lacerations over the length of their body, having seemingly expired due to exsanguination. MTF Agent Thomas Wells was discovered nearby, unresponsive and displaying similar injuries as to the rest of his team, and was subsequently transported to nearby Site-178 for medical treatment. No hostile entities were observed within the structure during it's occupation by Foundation recovery teams.

Following his recovery, Agent Wells underwent multiple interviews in an effort to ascertain a timeline of events following loss of contact with his team. Transcripts of relevant interviews can be found below.

Inconsistencies between the reported number of Ka'lin Detva practitioners and the number of bodies recovered at the scene suggests that some members may have fled prior to the arrival of Foundation reinforcements. Efforts are currently underway to locate any surviving members, with special emphasis being given to the location of the cult's purported leader, one Dmitri Velokev (AKA Karcist Aalukin). Research into his current potential whereabouts is ongoing.

Further information regarding SCP-XXXX restricted to personnel in possession of Security Clearance Level 4/XXXX.
