Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All civilians living within a 0.5 km radius of SCP-XXXX prior to its acquisition by the Foundation have since been relocated. A concrete fence has been erected around the perimeters of the designated area, which is to be monitored at all times. Personnel are not permitted to enter SCP-XXXX without approval from Senior Researcher Gunadi. Guards as well as field agents who have entered SCP-XXXX must be regularly screened for leptospirosis.

Updated Containment Procedures (DD/MM/YYYY): Following the success of the experiments in [LOG],

A/N: Maybe include an updated containment procedures deeming the offerings unnecessary after the events of [unknown], but do not include the reason why to avoid spoiling the end?

Description: SCP-XXXX is a seemingly deserted aquatic floating marketplace in Lembang, Indonesia. It spans an area of 0.055 square kilometers A/N: TBA. I need to describe it more, but I’m not sure how.

SCP-XXXX was originally a fishing area that was converted into a floating marketplace in 2012, but had to be closed and abandoned in 2014 following several outbreaks of leptospirosis tracing back to the water as well as multiple incidents of people drowning in the lake. The Foundation acquired the location in 2017 after identifying rumors from the locals believing it to be haunted by spirits that would drown trespassers or inflict water-borne illnesses on the nearby townspeople. All civilians living within a 0.5-km radius of the marketplace were ordered to relocate in order to limit the spread of disease originating from SCP-XXXX as well as to better conceal its anomalous nature from the public.

SCP-XXXX is inhabited by a population of invisible water-dwelling entities collectively designated as SCP-XXXX-1. These entities are invisible but are thought to be humanoid, based on the footprints they leave when on land, and are capable of locomotion both in the water and on the ground. They are sapient and capable of carrying conversations, but are hostile to humans and will harass and eventually attempt to drown them until they leave their territory. It is also theorized that they will leave the boundaries of the marketplace and invade nearby civilian areas in order to inflict leptospirosis onto the humans living there. Attempts to discern their motives have thus far proven unsuccessful, due to their uncooperative nature. Engaging in physical combat with SCP-XXXX-1 entities, aside from as a form of self-defense, is also discouraged, as it appears that they are unable to be terminated and violence only serves to agitate them further.

Addendum: As of DATE (or maybe: Following the events of [LAST DOCUMENT]), the former conflicts within SCP-XXXX are considered to be resolved. Containment procedures are to be maintained in order to prevent members of the public from discovering SCP-XXXX, but risks of containment breaches from SCP-XXXX-1 entities are noted to have ceased for the foreseeable future.
