Class: Euclid Keter (Upgraded to Keter as of ██-█-201█)
Containment: SCP-XXXX is to be kept secure under the main building of Research Site [REDACTED] and inside a subterranean anti-personnel concrete shell at all times. Direct visual or tactile contact with material in the natural cavern is to only be made by Class D test personnel. Constant remote video surveillance is required. No attempts to recover Class D personnel or objects inside the chamber are permitted.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a twenty-two (22) by thirty (30) foot natural underground spring in █████, New Mexico with a depth exceeding 2,000 feet. SCP-XXXX was brought to the Foundation's attention when the ████ Newspaper published an article about a "Suicide Cave". After the death toll rose to six (6) and civil authorities looked into the issue, an operation led by █████ ████████ applied a widespread Class B memory wiping operation and allowed for a site to be built under the guise of a small water treatment facility. Several remote wall and fluid composition tests have shown the wall composition is limestone and the water contains no foreign agents. Once human or animal lifeforms are introduced into visual or tactile contact with the cavern, they will invariably become visibly excited and within thirty (30) seconds will jump into the water and continue to swim downwards into the spring until contact is lost. No bodies of test subjects have ever been recovered from the spring after they swim down. Tests have revealed that only extensive external stimuli have failed to keep test subjects from attempting to enter the water.
Experiment Log XXXX-1: D10273 was restrained by two blind Class D staff inside the node in between the two doors and was visually exposed to SCP-XXXX. The subject struggled but was secured. The inner door was lowered and the subject was transported to a secure quarantine chamber. After █ months of psych evaluation and therapy, the subject started to communicate. D10273 became aggravated during questioning (see interview 217-20). The subject was later given a Class C amnesiac and implanted with false memories, released as of █-█-20██.

Dr █████: Tell me about the time you went to the cave.
D10273: The feeling I got when I saw it. I remember, I want it back.
Dr █████: What is taunting you?
D10273: It gave me happiness. I wanted to join it. Can I join it, Doc?
Dr █████: No, you can't join it. Can you tell me what it said to you?
D10273: What do you mean I can't [EXPLETIVE] see it?
Dr █████: Calm down, calm down. You're safe here. Can you just tell me what you experienced?
D10273 attacked and wounded Dr █████, requiring a Code Yellow neutralization by on-site security.
Addendum XXXX-01: As of the incident on ██-█-201█, no testing or contact is permitted. SCP-XXXX has been upgraded to Keter under orders of O5-█. Installation of 8 Scranton Reality Anchor units in Zone Red is paramount. Site [REDACTED] is to be fitted with Class Delta security measures. All activities regarding SCP-XXXX must be permitted in written form by Site Director █████. All emergency respondents must have a Sanity Evaluation rating of Sane or ████. In the event of a breach with a death toll under ten (10), security personnel are advised to deploy four (4) Platoons of [DATA EXPUNGED]. In the event of a breach with a death toll over ten (10), security personnel are advised to launch [DATA EXPUNGED] and utilize protocol ██-12b. In case of a total dimensional rift, [DATA EXPUNGED] must be relocated to Area [REDACTED] and all nearby personnel must evacuate.
