Item #: SCP-6813
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Secure storage at a secluded location in Northwestern United States. Constant 24/7 video surveillance of the storage unit, as well as continuous monitoring of SCP-8710.
Description: SCP-6813, or The Torturous Revolver, is a normal-appearing handgun of unknown material composition, though it seems to be made out of common steel. The tip of its barrel is scuffed from repeated use, and its wooden handle is engraved with strange markings. Upon any form of close inspection of the markings, they begin to blur and shift, becoming entirely unreadable by any Foundation employee or SCP. The gun appears unloaded, and its chambers are unable to be closely examined, for they are jammed shut, whither by rust or some other force.
6813 is considered extremely dangerous, though its containment is underwhelming at best. SCP-6813 has the ability to seemingly teleport to any location, which makes its containment extremely difficult. 6813 also has the ability to transport any humanoid creature that holds it to an unknown location or locations. After a few minutes, the creature returns, in variable state of emotional trauma. Some scream and weep in terror, while others vomit violently with fearful disgust. The overall outcome is always the same, however: shortly after reappearing, 6813's victim commits suicide with 6813 itself.
Discovery: 6813 was originally discovered in 1965 when a team of foundation members investigated an strange occurrence where a group of eight high schoolers had apparently committed suicide within a few days of each other. Each had been killed by the a single, unique caliber bullet, though the bullet itself was missing in each case. Each victim had not been noted to be previously suicidal. The strangest detail, however, was the presence of massive amounts of hormones that are released in the presence of extreme fear. The weapon was later discovered by the team in an old warehouse, sitting alone on a table. One of the agents proceeded to pick it up, and thus disappeared. Roughly two minutes later, he reappeared and promptly killed himself with the gun before any of his colleagues could utter a word. The remaining agents then bagged the weapon, taking care to avoid touching it. It has be under Foundation surveillance ever since, though it never remains in its containment unit for more than two and a half months.
Object Background: Because of its apparent malicious intentions, it is proposed by some researchers particularly close to 6813's containment that it is perhaps a possessed weapon of serial killer or other evil creature.
