Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an opaque container with a lid when not being tested. Said container must remain closed during transportation from storage to the testing area.

All testing should be observed through a thick sheet of glass from an observation room adjacent to the testing room. A minimum of two security guards are to be positioned inside the observation room, as well as two additional guards outside the testing area. Access to the testing room containing SCP-XXXX is forbidden outside of test subjects.

Any personnel on the observation deck during testing who start to exhibit abnormal patriotism, a previously absent interest in sports or previously unknown knowledge about the Olympic games are to leave the testing facility and take a break. Any affected personnel that refuse to leave are to be escorted out by security and discharged for the rest of the day.

Following the injuries of Researcher Brown and Phillips, as well as the death of Assistant Researcher Perez (see experiment log T-XXXX-16), test subjects of one nationality may not outnumber test subjects of another. If a similar incident does occur, the surviving test subjects will be allowed to take class-A amnestics and be transferred to a different task at their request.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 50 x 70 cm poster held in a plain silver frame. It bears several small tears along the sides, as well as a few creases in the middle. When first recovered, SCP-XXXX seemed to be an official poster for the Sydney Olympics in the year 2000, similar to those sold at the Olympic Museum (musée olympique) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

When in the presence of one or multiple humans, SCP-XXXX transforms into the official poster of the latest Olympic games hosted by the person’s or persons’ country of origin. This change is instantaneous and physical: it can be captured by camera
