Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is located in ████████, a 5km around SCP-XXXX was obtained on ██/██/████ and was expropriated from the original owners.
The 5km area around SCP-XXXX has been designated Provisional Site 232 and has been fenced off and restricted from the public and is to be monitored 24/7 by on-site Security Personnel with Level-2 Security Clearance.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a vast underwater cave system with an unknown depth and size, geographical readings suggest that the cave has non-euclidean geometry with shafts going up beyond the normal surface level. SCP-XXXX is suspected go down to Hadopelagic levels.
SCP-XXXX is known to shift in size and for new tunnels to appear and disappear at random, the current cause of this phenomenon is unknown(see Addendum Pi-1). The main shaft of SCP-XXXX seems to be completely unaffected by the altering geometry of SCP-XXXX and a Forward Operating Base has been established under the call-sign Ohio-79 (see Addendum Pi-2). Forward Operating Base Ohio-79 is located at a depth of around 290m below the surface of SCP-XXXX, the only way to get to Ohio-79 is via the main shaft. All personnel going to Ohio-79 must have a basic understanding of diving and must complete a Diving and Survival Course before entering.
Multiple Research Teams have been sent into SCP-XXXX with Escort Teams recruited from on-site Security Personnel trained in Combative Diving and Reconnaissance with assistance from ATF Lambda-18 ("Ordinary Cave Divers")
ATF Lambda-18 are to be sent in with Research and Exploration teams only if they are going beyond a depth of 500m due to hostile creatures lurking at a depth of around 590m, current 4 inch flechettes have been efficient against small-medium sized creatures.
Currently only 89 species have been recorded inside SCP-XXXX that haven't been discovered before, it is unaware if any of these creatures are hostile as some of them seem to attack at any given time (see Addendum Pi-3)
After further exploration of SCP-XXXX's main shaft, it appears that there have been pre-built structures and temples resembling ancient Roman architecture, the purpose of these structures and buildings serve no purpose. (see Addendum Pi-4)
Experiment Log Romeo-1: After one of the tunnels sealed itself off at 12:09 on ██/██/████, Researcher ████████ made a request to use explosives to see if they could reopen the entrance to the tunnels. Explosives revealed the entire tunnel was completely sealed and Researcher ████████ was unable to locate the original tunnel
Experiment Log Romeo-2: Attempted destruction of the temples and structures found within SCP-XXXX (see Addendum Pi-4) have proven unsuccessful, no damage was caused to the structures. Explosives and drills were utilized to no extent.
Addendum Pi-1: The current geometry of SCP-XXXX is of non-euclidean geometry and is larger than the given external area. It is unknown how large SCP-XXXX truly is and exploration of the cave systems may be impossible. It has also been noted that the caves in SCP-XXXX shift in size or sometimes simply vanish entirely.
Addendum Pi-2: Following the first initial exploration of SCP-XXXX, Researchers pointed out a suitable area to setup a supply station. The supply station eventually developed into a full Forward Operating Base under the call-sign Ohio-79 and is connected to an Oxygen Pipeline, electricity and fresh water from the surface. Ohio-79 has 2 backup generators in-case of power failure. Offices and common areas have also been established in Ohio-79 for long exploration trips.
Addendum Pi-3: The creatures within SCP-XXXX are varied in size, shape and colour and have been sighted attacking each other and Foundation Personnel, current weaponry such as the APS Underwater Rifle have proven effective. It is unknown if larger creatures exist within SCP-XXXX
Addendum Pi-4: The structures resembling ancient Roman architecture have been found at a depth of 1189m below the surface, currently ATF Lambda-18 ("Ordinary Cave Divers") are exploring these temples.
