Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX1 is currently constrained to a 250-acre lot in ████████, FL, housed within a 8.712-million square foot containment facility. The walls of the containment facility are three foot thick concrete reinforced with carbon fiber. The walls of the facility start at a subterranean foundation depth of 15 feet, and continue 30 feet above ground level for a total uniform height of 45 feet. The roof of the containment facility is composed of impact glass skylighting laid across a steel scaffolding, which is in turn supported by load-bearing columns at 500 yard intervals.
Tracts of the SPC-XXX1-B run north-to-south in the aisles between the load-bearing columns. Irrigation lines provide regular watering for SPC-XXX1-B, while the skylighting allows for photosynthesis. A robust HVAC system with ultrafine screening will permit climate control, as well as effective cycling of atmospheric gases.
The internal perimeter of the facility is lined with a CCTV system composed of visual spectrum, infrared, and ultraviolet cameras at 25 yard intervals. These cameras are to be connected to an on-site network of photovolteic panels, and backed up by both deep cycle battery and diesel generators. Both batteries and diesel generators must be routinely cycled to ensure full functionality.
The video feeds from the CCTV network must be monitored at all times at two separate on-site auditing stations. It is critical that facility personnel maintain constant surveillance of the facility interior; as such 10 man teams will work four-hour shift cycles that rotate on a staggered scale. In the event of incapacitation of a surveillance team, amphetimene distribution to shifts are preemptively authorized.
There is one entrance to the interior of the facility on the southern wall. The portal into the facility is a hermetically sealed double airlock, situated at both ends of a 30 foot x 10 foot x 10 foot concrete tunnel. The interior of the tunnel is lined with a network of misters that emit nicotinoid insecticide. CCTV high-speed digital cameras line the interior of the tunnel at five foot increments. All personnel entering the facility must wear Level A HAZMAT gear and undergo a full suit sterilization before exiting the facility.
Description: SCP-XXX1 is a symbiotic ecosystem comprised of two organisms, SCP-XXX1-A and SCP-XXX1-B. SCP-XXX1-A is an unknown species of cicada phenotypically similar to Tibicen davisi. SCP-XXX1-B is an unknown species of asparagus phenotypically similar to Asparagus plumosus.
