_AUDIO LOG. SITE 43 ORIENTATION. 3/1/10_
_BEGIN LOG_
Welcome. I am Site 43's director. You can call me "director". Or "boss".
The fact that you were transferred here means you are capable enough to deal with the things stored in here. So no Performance Reading is necessary.
If you haven't been told why you're here, I'll give you the three most common reasons why Foundation personnel are transferred here. You can figure out which one fits your situation:
Reason one: You showed great potential, and your previous Site's director met up with me, and we decided to bring you here, to Site 43.
Reason two: You aren't as good as your portfolio stated. Any information that requires a Level 4 clearance or higher that you retained was wiped off your memory, and now you're here, ready to perform a job more well-suited to your… capabilities.
Reason three: You were brought in because of what happened during Breach 43-7. And, yes, I do think the precautions we took because of that incident are a bit much. Original opinion, eh?
Now, onto your other guaranteed question: what is this place?
Well, it's not what you'd call a 'conventional' facility. Site 43 does not house any SCPs permanently. This site is one of those Proxy Sites. I'm saying it like you know what that is. TL;DR: When the Foundation wants to transport an SCP from site to site, they bring it here for a while, (because Mobile Containment Units aren't good enough apparently) and then they take it the rest of the way towards the item's destination.
There's more nuance to why we do this, and it has a lot to do with travel routes overlapping, resource conserving, and safety. But I won't bore you with the details.
Now you know why you're here. And where you are. Go follow one of the site guards, they'll give you your first assignment. You are dismissed.
