Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5417 is to be laid out on the floor of a metal box. Security cameras must be recording SCP-5417's chamber at all times. One armed guard must be outside of SCP-5417's chamber at all times to prevent personnel having contact with SCP-5417. When testing is in process, one two scientists must be in the chamber at all times.
Description SCP-5417 Is a carpet that was found in 1918 in a household off the coast of ████████, Oregon. SCP-5417 is an old worn down carpet, the coloring and patterns on it are a faint orange and blue. Some scientists that enter its cell report that the colors seem to be off but they could not describe why. SCP-5417 has been reported able to communicate to personnel outside of its containment; scientists and guards that pass by SCP-5417's cell report being able to hear voices coming from the cell. When SCP-5417 was tested for speech, results were negative. Scientists are not sure if SCP-5417 cannot speak, or is refusing not to. SCP-5417 is docile, however, one scientist Dr. ██████ went missing while in the chamber of SCP-5417. The camera footage shows Dr. ██████ in the chamber, then the footage cuts out and reappears 2 minutes later with no scientist inside the chamber. Ever since then two scientists are required inside the chamber when testing is in process.
Two tests were done on SCP-5417, They are listed below.
The first test recently took place on ██/██/████. Two scientists went into the chamber and were requested to interact with SCP-5417. Scientists took two steel blocks and positioned them on SCP-5417 in multiple places. Scientists first put the blocks on top of SCP-5417, which in return did nothing. The scientists then lifted SCP-5417, which the scientists later report being to heavy for a carpet, and placed the blocks underneath SCP-5417. After laying the carpet back down the blocks [DATA EXPUNGED]. Scientists then reported hearing "unsettling" voices in their ears.
The second test took place on ██/██/████. Two scientists, brought a D-Class personnel into SCP-5417's chamber and instructed him to lay down underneath the carpet. The D-Class complained saying that the carpet was too heavy and that he couldn't lift it, but when the scientists lifted it it they seemed to have no struggle. The D-Class then went underneath the carpet and immediately [DATA EXPUNGED]. The scientists then placed multiple other objects and they [DATA EXPUNGED] as well.
