Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4265 is to be stored in a subterranean chamber with deep-freeze temperatures of approximately -160 degrees Celsius (-256 Fahrenheit). It is to be contained in
a dense lead box with dimensions of 5m x 5m x 5m due to it emitting excessive amounts
of Beta particles. SCP-4265 itself has a mass of ███Kg. Minimal contact with SCP-4265 is mandatory. Since it is rather large, only 2 heavily suited Researcher personnel may enter the chamber at a time to to extract surface dust on SCP-4265 to take away and perform further research on. However, this procedure has a High-Risk threat level and so it has to be overseen and sanctioned by at least three O5 Council Members.

Description: SCP-4265 was detected by the European Southern Observatory on mount Cerro Paranal in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile on the 07/██/200█ orbiting Earth at a distance of 3.2 million kilometers and initial calculations suggested the object had a diameter of roughly 70 meters and was travelling at 16 Km/s. That same day, astronomers predicted a ██% chance of impact somewhere over the remote Namibian desert in south-west Africa two weeks later on the 21/██/200█. This caused a brief period of panic, because if it were to impact it would generate a blast yield of approximately 6██kilotons, equivalent to 45 times as much powerful as the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

On 21/██/200█ at 18:21 UTC (20:21 local time) a super-bolide was detected by the US-Military's Nuclear Explosion Detection (NED) reconnaissance satellite ████-█ entering earths atmosphere 437 Km south of Namibia's capital, Windhoek. It exploded 24.3 Km above Earth's surface in the stratosphere, releasing an immense shockwave that easily blew down weak structures and destroyed windows within a 250 Km radius. The blast was almost instantly detected by seismometers around the globe as the wave rippled through the Earth.
