Special Containment Procedures: SCP 4827 is to be stored in it’s original packaging, located in Storage Area ██. The lens cover is to be kept on SCP-4827 unless being used for testing. Any personnel who are exposed to the effects of SCP-4827 are to be subjected to mandatory therapy sessions, and are to be placed on suicide watch.
Description: SCP-4827 is a normal pair of adjustable binoculars, with the logo for the company Celestine etched into the metallic frame. A dial is located on the bottom of the binoculars.1 The majority of the body is non-anomalous, as only the lenses and dial have anomalous effects. When a mentally stable person looks into the binoculars, they function completely normally. If under an circumstances a person with a severe mental illness were to look into them, the anomalous effect of the binoculars take place. When the victim makes direct eye contact with the lenses, any existing mental illness immediately and permanently increases in intensity until eye contact is broken. It is to be noted that eye contact is most often broken by the victim. The dial controls the intensity and speed of the mental decay, and any attempts to turn it while affected by SCP-4827 will result in the immediate mental collapse of the victim. Victims of SCP-4827 have consistently reported hearing a voice, but are unable to recall anything that was said.
