Item #: Anomalous Object 21992
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Object has no special requirements, storage should follow standard anomalous object storage guidelines. — Due of the raised interest within research assistants for studying this object when "there is nothing better to do" as quoted by assistant Jeremy, Assistant Kenny and Assistant Tracy, this item is to be tracked and kept a log on for its current holder.
Current object location: Researcher Tilsters table, (paper weight) —
Description:
AO-21992 is a small object estimated to be around 12cm - 12cm - 12cm in size and to weight around 700 grams. The exact size, shape and weight of this object is however inconclusive due of its nature and these estimations has been agreed to be the closest so far.
AO-21992's anomalous properties are as followed; It will appear, feel and look different depending on the way it is observed or measured for different individuals and machinery. Once a measurement and look has been decided, the observer in question will not be able to see it in any other way.
Most commonly, people who see the object will see it as a metal ball and say it weights around a kilogram. People who have not seen the item but felt it tend to refer to it as cubic after feeling it and then looking at it.
The object's size always tends to be big enough to fit in the palm of a persons hand and never too heavy to be held on one hand. Various weight measurement methods have reported values as small as 300grams to as high as 1.2kilograms, with most values usually between 500 to 900 grams
Addendum 21992-1: Testing Log
Test A - Date 24th of May 2018
Subject: Researcher Tilster
Procedure: Tilster was not told of the object's behavior before hand and was given the object in a small plastic bag, obstructing the direct sight to object. Before taking the object he was asked to feel it and give his opinions on the object
Results: When given the bag, Tilster noted that the shape on the bag was rather cubic, but was surprised feel that it is in fact a pyramid shape when he took the object out of the bag, when he kept in it in his hand he kept on insisting that it is some sort of metallic pyramid
Analysis: Seems the base shape gets personally defined even if the object itself is not been observed directly
Test B - Date 24th of May 2018
Subject: D - Class personnel suffering from blindness and numbness
Procedure: The object was handed to the D class person and researchers asked to describe how the object felt
Results: After a long while of playing around with the object, the D class personnel reported that it felt like a spiky rubbery ball of sort "Is this one of those massage balls?"
Analysis: "Didn't see that coming!" - Researcher Tilster
Test C - Date 25th of May 2018
Subject: Security Camera Footage
Procedure: Footage where the object was present within the cameras was taken for review
Results: In the footage the object can be observed as a wooden cube
Analysis: "Cube? I see a metallic pyramid" - Researcher Tilster
Test D - Date 25th of May 2018
Subject: One laser scanner
Procedure: The object was placed within the scanner by Researcher Tilster and it was scanned
Results: The scanner rendered a shape that looked like very smooth cone
Analysis: "Wonder if we can get something different with echo-locator" - Researcher Tilster
Test E - Date 25th of May 2018
Subject: One Echo locator
Procedure: The object was placed within the chamber and echo locator was used
Results: The result rendered showed something resembling an egg
Analysis: "I still say its a pyramid" - Researcher Tilster
Test F - Date 26th of May 2018
Subject: One lamp
Procedure: The object was placed within a chamber by researcher Tilster by request of Assistant Jay whom had not observed the said object before. The object was put in a small hole in the wall with a high power flood lamp behind it and the lights from rest of the chamber were turned off to observe the shadow it cast.
Results: Shape of the object's shadow showed what appears to resemble a time glass.
Analysis: "Man, you guys really cant make up your minds, now can you?" - Assistant Jay
Addendum 21992-2: Notice
"It has come to our attention that AB-21992 is going around the office like some sort of a toy for bored researchers. Just cause this item is not considered an SCP object doesn't mean you should treat it any less, yes the possibilities with this thing are nearly endless due of its nature but this should go without saying it; if you have nothing productive to contribute on this object, just put it in the default storage facility for anomalous objects and be done with it " Senior Researcher -unnamed-
