Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept on a 200mm/200mm sheet of graphine, submerged in a 400mm/400mm/400mm water bath constructed of 20mm thick polythene. a 20W waterproofed power supply is to be submerged in the water bath and wired to a 48 hour battery pack consisting of two (2) interchangeable power cells. Power cells are to be alternatively swapped every 24 hours.

REVISION(█/█/20█):
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a quarantined room (2m/2m/3m), on a separate ventilation system the the rest of Site-█ and on a separate power source.SCP-XXXX is to be kept on a 200mm/200mm sheet of graphine, submerged in a 400mm/400mm/400mm water bath constructed of 20mm thick polythene. a 20W waterproofed power supply is to be submerged in the water bath and wired to a 48 hour battery pack consisting of two (2) interchangeable power cells. Power cells are to be alternatively swapped every 24 hours by Class-D personnel wearing full personal protection equipment.

Description:
SCP-XXXX was discovered in █████████████, USA. SCP-XXXX is a species of fungus unobserved in the wild. Colonies vary in shape and size and will grow towards the nearest source of power, including electrical circuits, computer hardware and living nervous tissue. SCP-XXXX does not require water, sunlight, oxygen or nutrients to grow. Colonies consist primarily of cells baring close resemblance to the neurons present in human nervous tissue; however can and will adapt new protective tissues if placed in hostile environments. SCP-XXXX relies on electrical current, as well as sodium, potasium and calcium ions to survive and will source these resources by any means. When given a reliable and sufficient source of power, SCP-XXXX will cease to grow and revert to a dormant state.

SCP-XXXX has been observed in controlled experiment XXXX-A to grow towards and access sources of data on both digital mediums and nervous tissue. The reason for SCP-XXXX's behavior in experiment XXXX-A are unclear, however, changes in electrical activity within fungal cells have been observed even after the connection between the SCP-XXXX colony and digital mediums containing test data is severed.

Addendum:
When accessing data from the nervous tissue of Class-D test subjects, during controlled experiment XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX was observed to [DATA REDACTED].
As of the events of XXXX-B, no live subjects are to be used in tests involving SCP-XXXX.
