Special Containment Procedures:
All instances of Scp 4707 are to be housed in a climate controlled insect containment room that is kept at a temperature ranging from 32 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. This is to ensure SCP 4707 stays in a hibernation-like state. The rooms' walls need to be constructed of a graphene compound at least 11cm thick, with a 15cm layer of rubber insulation coating the outside of the chamber. Any interaction with SCP 4707 for testing needs to be approved by a level 3 senior research officer at site BLANK
Addendum: Any Bluetooth capable devices need to be kept at a minimum of 25 meters away from the containment room at all times.
Description:
Scp 4707 is a designation given to a group of predatory insects that greatly resembles the Apple brand product “Airpods” that was released in 2018. They bear a physiologically similar makeup to the insect class Megasoma Actaeon. More commonly known as the elephant beetle.
When hunting, Instances of Scp 4707 will travel to a usually urban, highly populated place and then hibernate until interacted with by a human. Whenever a human picks up an instance of Scp 4707 a soft music will play, which has been identified as a cognito hazard. The victim will then feel compelled to place the detachable buds in their ears. When this happens Scp 4707 will begin to emit a musical sound that has been described by D class personnel as “relaxing” and “it just makes me want to curl up and take a nap.” As the music plays, the infected individual will feel compelled to find a dark comfortable place to lie down.
Once that place is found, the detachable parts of SCP 4707 will wriggle up inside their host and begin to release an unknown acidic chemical to hollow out the head cavity. After that, they will begin to lay anywhere from 500 to 1500 eggs. After a period of roughly a week, the eggs will reach maturity and the larva will begin to feed on the dead body of the infected individual. The larva have been observed to eat each other in order to survive so very few of the original eggs will reach maturity. Two weeks later roughly 50 fully formed surviving instances of Scp 4707 will exit the corpse and restart the cycle.
Adendum: Adult instances of SCP 4707 have been discovered to have the ability to interface with
Bluetooth capable devices within 25 meters of their location. When an instance successfully connects with a Bluetooth capable device, the device will begin to emit a cognitohazardous effect that will compel listeners to breach containment and place an instance of SCP 4707 in their ear canal.
