A World Without You

Item #: SCP-5036

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment procedures: SCP-5036 was removed from its original location by foundation agents on (redacted), and is currently held within site-19. It is to to be constantly monitored for any anomalous entities exiting from it, and is to remain locked outside of testing. If SCP-5036 opens by unknown means, it is to be closed and locked immediately. SCP-5036 is contained in a 8x8 meter concrete chamber, guarded by a locked heavy steel door and two armed personnel at all times. Radiation levels inside the chamber are to also be monitored constantly in order for any spikes in rad levels to be noted. Extra precautions were taken in an attempt to dampen or stop radiation emitted from SCP-5036, these attempts resulted in failure.

Description: SCP-5036 is a dark brown oak door still in its frame, simple ascetic designs are carved in the wood which are common in doors of this variety, burn marks imprinted around the handle indicate that the door can withstand extreme temperatures and is capable of incredible amounts of resistance to damage, if not indestructible. Wear on the door suggest heavy use before it’s containment. SCP-5036 posses a small brass handle containing a standard door lock, which is scorched by flames of unknown origins. It’s anomalous properties begin when the door is opened, opening SCP-5036 reveals the location in which it was originally located, an abandoned house in (redacted), Louisiana. A place known for heavy cult activities.

When the person who opened SCP-5036 (now effectively SCP-5036-A), steps through the door frame they enter what seems to be a parallel world in which they were never conceived. The reasons for this vary, from either of the subjects parents being unable to have children, to the death of one or both of the subjects parents. When entered a spike of radiation is emitted from SCP-5036, causing any personnel within approximately 33 feet of the doorway to instantly become nauseous and dizzy.
SCP-5036 seems to be capable of manipulating the world inside of it, or possibly contains another property or being that the foundation is currently not aware of that is capable of doing so.

Occasionally noises similar to screaming can be heard from the opposite side of SCP-5036, regardless of the door now not being connected to any sort of wall or barrier, the noise can still be heard on the opposite side of the door. SCP-5036 also seems to be capable of opening on its own, even when locked. The means of how it achieves this are unknown.

Addendum-5036-1: Recovery

SCP-5036 was recovered in (redacted), Louisiana on (redacted). SCP-5036 was located in an overgrown, abandoned house after the foundation noted large rad spikes radiating from the middle of a Forrest where the house containing SCP-5036 was located. A small group of four field personnel were deployed to investigate. The personnel regarded a sick feeling when entering the house also noting that the floor was charred and black.

As the agents approached SCP-5036 the area surrounding it was noticeably more charred, suggesting the flames may have originated from whatever was inside of SCP-5036 or SCP-5036 it’s self. When inspecting SCP-5036 the team noticed nothing out of the ordinary as when the door was opened it seemingly just led to the other side of the wall. This was later disproved after the team removed the door and the frame from the wall after their Geiger counter confirmed SCP-5036 was in fact the source of the radiation. Now when SCP-5036 is stepped through, no matter it’s physical location, it will always lead to the same area, This was discovered in later tests.

Addendum-5036-2: Test #1

On (redacted) a single D-Class personnel (D-3829) was ordered to enter SCP-5036 and inspect the anomalous world contained within it for any irregularities. She was provided a body cam, communications device, and upon her request a “smoke for the journey”. When the D-class entered SCP-5036 a large spike in radiation was recorded causing nearby personnel to be affected, it appears the closer the personnel were to SCP-5036 the stronger the effects were, although the D-class was not effected. Personnel reported nausea, dizziness, and headaches.

D-3829 exited into the house in which SCP-5036 was recovered, leaving SCP-5036 open behind her. She was then ordered to walk to the nearest town while investigating the world for any anomalous properties, items, or beings. She noted that “this is is just a big waste of time” while strongly expressing her opinion that “it’s just a f** door”. After 12 hours inside of SCP-5036 the D-class fell silent, no longer complaining about her “precious time” or how pointless she thought the testing was.

D-3829 was then tracked moving off course from the location she was ordered to go, a nearby foundation owned facility. The D-class was then questioning on her sudden change in behavior and direction, the D-class only stating, “I am a parasite to this world. never meant to be but yet, I am.” This raises the concern that SCP-5036 may have some form of mind altering affect on SCP-5036-1. The D-class now completely silent, disregards and ignores all orders by foundation personnel to get return to the testing area and is now traveling to (redacted), Mississippi, the city in which the subject grew up. It was observed on her body cam that she walked the entire 12 day journey without any need for food, water, or even rest, only stopping for a period of 33 seconds on day 6 for unknown reasons, she was seemingly protected by SCP-5036, though this is just a theory. D-3829 eventually arrived at her childhood home the D-class seemed to have been released from the effect of SCP-5036 upon arrival and began showing strong sighs of fatigue and confusion.

After 33 minutes the D-class frantically began asking questions demanding to know what happened, obviously distressed by her current situation, personnel then told her to calm down and obey her orders or she will be terminated upon returning. After contemplating the D-class complied, now taking notice of where she was. D-3829 showed high levels of stress and anxiety when realizing this (it is important to note D-3829 was taken into foundation custody after she was imprisoned for the murder of her father).

The D-class then began sobbing and yelling at personnel through her communications device asking if this was some king of sick f** joke. Personnel then responded stating they didn’t know what she was talking about. D-3829 then began breaking down before an incident occurs inside of SCP-5036. This is the log from the following incident:

(Begin Log)

D-3829: Oh God, how is it possible? *subject is sobbing uncontrollably*

Foundation: whats wrong?

D-3829: How is he alive?

Foundation: Who is alive?

D-3829: *sobbing*

Foundation: D-3829, who is alive?

D-3829: My dad.

Foundation: Your father, as in (redacted)?

D-3829: Yes. *continues sobbing*

Foundation: D-3829, we're gonna need you to take a closer look. Knock on the door and engage in conversation.

D-3829: *is very reluctant to do so but is eventually convinced by more threats of termination. D-3829 then proceeds to knock on the door*

(The remainder of the log is between the subject and her father)

D-3829: Um, hello.

Father: Hello there, do i know you?

D-3829: *audibly confused* You don"t remember me? I"m (redacted)… Your daughter.

Father: I'm sorry, you must be mistaken, I've never had any children and much less any that I wouldn't know about. *It's observed on the body cam that the subject's father begins fidgeting and acting uneasy.*

D-3829: Dad i- (D-3829 is cut off by her father who begins speaking impossibly low tone)

Father: You are impure. You will be judged. *Body cam reveals what appears to be some sort of molting metal pouring from the Father's eye sockets, though he seems not to be phased by this. (The designs craved into SCP-5036 now begin to glow a vibrant red, and are radiating heat. D-5036's body cam malfunctions and at this point and the only visual now being produced is a black screen with "You will be judged" written in red text, though audio remains unharmed.)

D-3829: *screaming* Get me the f*** out of here! Please! *D-3829 then goes silent for 8 minutes before finally repeating the following phrase 33 times in an abnormally calm tone*:
"Nu Mendacium Ad Animam"

(End Log)

At this time SCP-5036 slams itself shut and foundation personnel are unable to open it again do to drastic rising temperatures surrounding SCP-5036. For a period of 12 days after this incident SCP-5036 remained at a constant temperature of 1233* Fahrenheit although no physical damage to SCP-5036 was noted. D-3829 is assumed KIA.
