Item #: SCP-4589
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4589 must be kept on a 101 cm tall pedestal inside a soundproof bulletproof glass box, 6x6x6 meters. The box may have one entrance. The door must remain locked at all times when not being examined. One electronic lock, and one physical combination lock must be used to secure the door.
The box must be guarded at all times by no less than two agents, who must be equipped with sonic emitters capable of drowning out all sound in a fifteen meter radius. Scientists examining the box may only enter when equipped with ear protection graded for one hundred-forty decibels or higher. Scientists must be trained in solving Rubiks Cubes or similar puzzles before being allowed to manipulate the SCP. Security personnel are to be trained for operating under highly disorienting external stimuli.
Description: SCP-4589 is a silver cube, similar in form to a Rubiks Cube. However, all external faces of SCP-4589 are silver, and unlike that of a Rubiks Cube, are silver in color. The mirror-like faces appear to ripple when the SCP is approached by someone who is attempting to manipulate it. Observers have reported strange runes appearing in the ripples (See Addendum one).
The SCP is reported by researchers (See Interview 1) to emit whispers in an unknown language (Rumors that the language has relations to SCP-1220 are unconfirmed). When these whispers are heard by any living organism within a four-meter radius, the organism (Hereby referred to as 'subject') develops the ability to converse with the cube in said language, although when questioned later, they have no memory of the conversation (See Interview 2).
After approximately ten minutes (Times vary by subject, subjects known to have speech impediments tend to succumb in less than five minutes, while subjects with exceptionally strong IQs [Numbering above 124] tend to last through upwards of thirty minutes of conversation.
After the conversation finishes, subjects nod in understant
