We're not just some hooligans north of the border who run around all day, playing with harmless SCPs. We're Canadians, and we're dedicated in protecting Canada and her territories from Anomalous threats.
We were formed in 1985, as a division of the CSIS. Formerly, we were known as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Occult Service, which was another division of the British Occult Service back when Canada was a dominion.
A rivalry quickly formed with the UIU, who accused us of messing around with their influence in North America. William Webster himself even called up Director Finn and told him to ''stop fucking around''.
Of course we proved them wrong.
After the fall of the Soviet Union and consequently the GRU-P, we no longer had that threat from Russia anymore. You might assume that our funding was cut, because the UIU's was, but you see, we had none of that. Because of the high numbers of anomalies in Canada, the Foundation quickly took an interest and built facilities there. Our operatives worked side by side with the Foundation in containing these anomalies and providing resources and equipment to the Foundation.
Today, the COS still loyally protects Canada. Our relationship with the Foundation isn't as good as the old times, but we are perfectly capable of doing our job.
Our mission is to protect Canada and her territories from other anomalous organizations and foreign agencies, as well as protecting her from and securing anomalies. We are not Foundation affiliated, but we sometimes will work with them as long as it best suits the interests of Canada.
Unusual Incidents Unit
During the Cold War, the COS had a love-hate relationship with the UIU, both competing for the dominance of North America. After the Cold War, relations warmed and now both actively compete in joint operations.
United Nations Global Occult Coalition
The COS does not mind what the GOC does, as they have enough power to end it then and there.
The SCP Foundation
As a result of Incident 666, the COS and Foundation have never reconciled. The COS's official stance however, is to not meddle around in Foundation actions unless they go against the wishes of Canada, effectively making them neutral.
Russian Anomalous Intervention Unit
The COS is actively against the RAIU, frequently raiding their outposts along with the UIU and GOC.
Chaos Insurgency
The COS is actively against the Chaos Insurgency, labelling them as ''anomalous terrorists''.
The Serpent's Hand
As with most government anomalous organizations, the COS takes the GOC's stance on the Serpent's Hand, kill them on sight.
COS DIVISIONS
''BLANC'' DIVISION
The Blanc division is the COS's primary combat division. They deploy to combat and recontain anomalies out in the field, and will be the first responders to assess the situation.
''NOIR'' DIVISION
The Noir division is the COS's intelligence gathering division. They are tasked with gathering intelligence on other anomalous agencies and groups, as well as on individuals the COS is interested in.
''GRIS'' DIVISION
The GRIS division is the COS's support division. They are tasked with maintaining relations with other anomalous groups and organizations, as well as researching anomalies.

Seventh Occult War
An Occult War, triggered by the SS Ahnenerbe and Thule-Gesselschaft to complete the Rite of Solomon. This war included the precusor of the COS, the RCMPOC. The events of this eventually led to the creation of the COS during the Cold War.
Incident ''666''
Previously in 1890, the Dominion of Canada's government gave a 99 year lease to the Foundation in order for them to build facilities to contain the anomalies Canada had. In 1989 however, the lease was to expire, and the Foundation desperately tried to renew it,and when the Canadian government refused, they retaliated, even messing around with the 1988 General elections and sabotaging COS facilities. However, this was discovered by the COS, which sent a strike team to eleminate 5 members of MTF ██████████. This caused a giant scandal within the anomalous community, and Foundation agents even occupied several sites close to the border to protect them from an attack. The Foundation was granted a 55 year lease, set to expire in 2044. This caused the straining of relations between the Foundation and COS which to this day, their relations have not improved.
Operation ''Dragonfly''
Joint operation by the UIU and COS which raided a RAIU stronghold in the Pacific, which had held several stolen anomalies.
