Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a kilometre squared enclosure disguised as an archaeological dig, located within Sierra Nevada National Park, Spain. Civilians and park officials are to be told to avoid the area.
The enclosure is to be consistent with containment used for large animals in wildlife preservation or zoos. 700lm(1) bulbs are to be evenly spaced along the perimeter, illuminating both the outside and inside of the enclosure wall. Large 96,000lm floodlights are to be placed at 150m intervals, assuring roughly 50% of the enclosure is visible during the night. These are to be turned on each evening and turned off each morning. They must also be turned on if weather lowers sunlight to insufficient levels (approximately 350lm or lower).
Feeding is to take place at midnight each night. Two sheep or cows will be led in by a guard and left while said guard retreats outside. The lights illuminating the interior are then turned off for exactly 1 hour to allow SCP-XXXX to feed. Any remains are removed in the morning.
Every Sunday a local priest is to be called up to site to bless the walls, fencing and lights, and ambient levels of Akiva radiation should be monitored for unusual fluctuations.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a living Inostrancevia, a carnivorous species of the family Gorgonopsidae, and resembles a predatory mammal in body plan despite its mostly reptilian nature. It is assumed to be the only member of the species considering both its anomalous nature and the extinction of its kind almost 252 million years ago. SCP-XXXX is much larger than any Inostrancevia on the fossil record, at 4.5 meters long with elongated canines measuring 24 centimetres.
Due to an unknown mechanism, SCP-XXXX is only tangible in low-light conditions. This does not seem to impede movement, even when SCP-XXXX is partially illuminated or passes through an area of light. The brighter a light the less substance SCP-XXXX appears to have, and during the day it effectively ceases to exist outside of faint outlines recorded in the shadows of rocky outcroppings or during unfavourable weather.
While ensuring SCP-XXXX passes through most objects without issue this apparently does not extend to objects blessed by members of the Catholic Church, a phenomenon discovered when SCP-XXXX became trapped in a small chapel while fleeing MTF Phi-2 (“Clever Girls”). As such these objects can still be pushed, bitten, and assaulted by SCP-XXXX, while the entity itself may remain unable to be viewed or interacted with by the rest of the world.
SCP-XXXX insists on being one William Cazella Cambiero, who lived in ████████ before disappearing on ██/█/████ after a series of self-imposed pilgrimages into the nearby desert. SCP-XXXX communicates in Spanish, albeit distorted and with difficulty.
SCP-XXXX believes that it has been canonized by an unknown force, unwillingly and through a process it will not elaborate upon. Multiple interviews have been conducted to ascertain SCP-XXXXs mental state and to identify the underlying reasons for this anomaly occurring. Extraneous interviews containing little information of value have been removed. A full list of interviews conducted between SCP-XXXX and Dr Diaz can be supplied upon request, translated from Spanish.
