Item #: SCP-XXXX, The Tireless Hunter
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be secured in a moderately sized underground bunker containing an artificial forest with a two airlock style entry points large enough to temporarily contain SCP-XXXX. At no point are facility staff to enter the containment while SCP-XXXX is present. Once a month SCP-XXXX with be lured into one of the airlocks to allow the main chamber to be cleaned by five D-Class personnel. If SCP-XXXX is contained this way for longer than a period of one hour it will attempt to breach containment.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a large quadrupedal creature approximately 1.8 meters tall and 3.2 meters in length with a tail approximately 1.2 meters in length. The creature's skin is pale with uneven protrusions of bone along it's spine. SCP-XXXX's face is mostly dominated by it's large mouth filled with hundreds of needle-like teeth and a long dexterous tongue capable of pulling flesh from bone. It's large eyes are covered over with translucent skin which allows it to watch it's surrounds at all times. SCP-XXXX's body and limbs are human-like in appearance though long and gaunt, but it is capable of strength beyond what it's form implies.
SCP-XXXX has shown a moderate understanding of it's own environment and when attempting to breach it's containment will always head directly to an entry point. It has also been observed attempting to hide during removal for cleaning and waiting at scheduled drop points for food. At no point has the creature been observed sleeping or even resting, and seems to prefer to stay in motion at all times. If a feeding has been missed it begins pacing it's containment in search of food, checking each drop point several times. If no food is found in this state SCP-XXXX becomes agitated and will attempt to breach containment.
When SCP-XXXX sees a living creature of appropriate size, from this point referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, it will begin to follow at approximately 1.3 meters per second. In this state SCP-XXXX will ignore all other living subjects it sees. The creature will always know where SCP-XXXX-1 is and also seems to know the best path to take to get to it’s prey. At no point will SCP-XXXX rest and has been observed to follow SCP-XXXX-1 for up to one week at this pace. If SCP-XXXX has not caught SCP-XXXX-1 at this time it will become agitated and pick up speed to approximately 12.5 meters per second. Once the creature has become agitated it will stop ignoring other subjects and will instead lash out at them as it continues it's chase, still refusing to stop pursuing SCP-XXXX-1.
If SCP-XXXX is unable to reach SCP-XXXX-1 within two weeks, or if SCP-XXXX-1 expires by means other than SCP-XXXX, the creature will abandon the chase and begin attacking and killing, but not consuming, all living things it can find and will remain in this state for up to three days. If an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 that had escaped is reintroduced to SCP-XXXX the creature will immediately enter it’s agitated state and charge SCP-XXXX-1.
If SCP-XXXX-1 is caught by SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX begins stripping tissue from SCP-XXXX-1 leaving behind only SCP-XXXX-1's skeletal structure covered in numerous small scratches from SCP-XXXX's teeth. This process has not been observed to take longer that 12.7 seconds. The creature appears to grow in intelligence with each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 consumed with a higher intelligence than it’s own. Thus far it seems to be limited to that of a very intelligent dog small child aged 3-4 (see Incident-XXXX-1), likely due to it’s diet consisting of mostly animals with only a few humans having fallen victim. SCP-XXXX is difficult to harm and has shown increased resistance when pursuing an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
When SCP-XXXX begins it’s chase SCP-XXXX-1 immediately feels as if they’re being watched and after a short period start to exhibit signs of mild paranoia, eventually developing into manic paranoia. SCP-XXXX-1 will be overwhelmed by a need to flee, always seeming to know what direction SCP-XXXX is coming from. Escaped individuals show signs of severe PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as well as a feeling described as a “strong pull” towards SCP-XXXX as if being recalled to the creature so it can resume the hunt. Returned instances of SCP-XXXX-1 immediately return to the state of manic paranoia and begin to flee once more. Escaping in this state triggers cardiac arrest in SCP-XXXX-1 and they are unable to be revived.
Addendum: If an escaped instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is cured of the mental afflictions left behind from being hunted by SCP-XXXX the creature will pursue SCP-XXXX-1 as if it is a new instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
Incident XXXX-01: ██/██/████: Upon entering SCP-XXXX’s containment for scheduled cleaning one of the five assigned D-Class fell into remains left behind by a previous feeding of the creature. The D-Class’s abdomen was punctured by several bones and was rushed out to get medical treatment. The remaining personnel failed to complete the cleaning within the acceptable time period and SCP-XXXX became agitated in it’s containment, causing a breach. The creature broke through into the facility and consumed three guards and one scientist before being re-contained. SCP-XXXX has now been observed to be able to speak in a harsh, raspy voice and has begun to call out to instances of SCP-XXXX-1 during it’s chase, egging it’s prey on to keep running. In addition it has also begun to call out to facility staff to feed it when scheduled feeding draws near.
