SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held at Research, Reliquary, and Containment Site-76 as further testing is conducted. SCP-XXXX must be kept in a 3x3x3 meter cell. Walls and floor must have a highly unreflective layer of material laid over them at all times (wood is currently in use). If possible, material must be painted to further reduce the material’s reflective property. Lighting, when used, must be kept at an extremely low level, as to prevent light from shining excessively on material. After testing, SCP-XXXX must be covered with a dense layer of cloth.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an ornate floor mirror measuring 0.55 meters in length, 0.22 meters in width, and 1.06 meters in height. SCP-XXXX appears to be made mostly of metal, copper specifically, with chunks of wood occasionally being used in its frame. At its corners, the frame transforms into a flower made of metal, namely titanium. Splotches of paint covers its back. On SCP-XXXX’s front there is a reflective mirror measuring 0.48 meters in length and 0.97 meters in height. There are cracks at its corners which lead to each of the flowers.

When SCP-XXXX comes into contact with biological life, it will begin to emit a low and almost inaudible hum, a melody which, in all animalia tested with the exception of specific members of the murid family, calms the subject and creates a sense of safety. Humming does not affect personal through audio devices or through any sound blocking tools. SCP-XXXX appears to utilize any light reflective material in its vicinity to enhance the effect. Subjects will proceed to wander aimlessly, appearing to be in thought, until they see themselves in SCP-XXXX’s mirror. Subjects will stand still for approximately 13 minutes and 13 seconds before walking to the mirror and jumping or diving into the glass, depending on the subject’s size. The subject will not re-emerge from the mirror until an almost indeterminable period of time. The only consistent factor of time that coincides with reemergence is that subjects will never return before 13 days have passed, and that the digits 1 and 3 must always be present in the time period elapsed. Subjects have re-emerged as late as 13 months.

Subjects, upon returning, report a dimension of opposites. SCP-XXXX appears to transport subjects into a self contained dimension, in which everything is reversed or turned opposite (i.e. sky is orange instead of blue during midday). Subjects report a battle of existence, in that the opposite of the quality of things “existing” also occurs, but that other qualities such as “color” require the object to exist, and create a glitching effect with all things present (i.e. codominance in genetics; they cannot outrule each other). When in contact with ██████ ███, the dimension appears to correct itself for multiple seconds at a time. Subjects report being moved elsewhere on the continent, or on the world entirely. All subjects who have returned report being placed no farther than █████, ███████. Subjects find copies of whatever environment SCP-XXXX is in, but only visible as they draw closer to it as it is in the real world. It is assumed that subjects ████-██, ████-██, and ████-██ have not returned as they were placed in a location that renders them unable to find their way back. Subjects report lack of a need for food and drink, for sleep, and an issue with determining time.

Upon return, subjects will be comatose for 13 days.

It is assumed that some laws of our world are kept in order for the reverse world to retain its structure. Further testing required to determine.

Written Report from returnee Class-D ████-██: Hell. Do you know what it’s like to experience your body running through having bits and pieces disappear over and over? Of both thinking and being completely unable to think? It’s madness. Madness. Up is down, nothing is real.
