Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4197 is to be locked in a 4in x 4in x 4in glass case with 3cm thick walls, and kept in a 2.5m x 2.5m x 2.5m solid steel room at Site-82. 2 members of security are to be present at all times, and 5 members of security present during testing to avoid any catastrophic containment breaches.
Description: SCP-4197 is a black velvet bag with unknown text printed on it. As of ██/19/██03, SCP-4197 weighs 28lbs as measured by D-82947. SCP-4197 has caused █ containment breaches in Site-39, and 1 containment breach in Site-82. All tests on SCP-4197 have shown the same outcomes with 1 exceptions (See Addendum-4197-8X).
When a subject reaches into SCP-4197, the subject will begin experiencing hallucinations of a human skeleton with varying height. When hallucinations end 22 minutes after the hand was put into the bag, the subject will report pains in the thigh, stomach, left hand, and the neck. From this point forward, subject is designated SCP-4197-A. If SCP-4197-A reaches into the bag a second time, they are observed to ‘melt’ onto the ground as if they had no bones. The bones are suspected to be absorbed into SCP-4197. If SCP-4197-A manages to reach into the bag a third time within 30 minutes of the second time, SCP-4197-A’s skin dissolves, leaving only a pile of muscles. Life in SCP-4197-A ceases at this moment.
SCP-4197 has shown to ‘spit’ out the bones of previous test subjects bi-weekly. Depending on how many test subjects that have been used during the 2 weeks, multiple instances of SCP-4197-1 will be formed. These instances are sentient and are shown to attack the walls of the containment chamber until terminated by on-site security. Any instances that are not terminated are to be transferred to Site-██ for research purposes.
Between ██/27/████ and ██/08/████, O5-█ was the owner of SCP-4197 until it came into contact with ████████, in which SCP-4197’s anomalous properties manifested and was contained by Agent █████████ and Agent █████ (KIA) 13 days after contact with ████████. Further testing required to determine if O5-█ was at all affected by SCP-4197.
Addendum-4197-8X: SCP-4197 has shown to ‘spit’ out the bones of 45 test subjects, but instead of becoming 45 instances of SCP-4197-1, they all were merged together and became SCP-4197-X. SCP-4197-X destroyed the containment wall within 2 seconds of gaining sentience, killing 5 personnel within the 1st minute and killing 82 personnel total. Agent ██████, Agent ███████, and Agent ████ were deployed with Dr. ██████’s information on the subject. SCP-4197-X was terminated 13 minutes after they were deployed.
Addendum-4197-2: SCP-4197 was transported to the janitorial storage closet, as at the time SCP-4197 was not considered enough of a threat to be contained properly. SCP-4197 was captured by Chaos Insurgency due to this incident and later retrieved by Agent █████, Agent ██, and Agent ████
