Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5273 is to be held in a 1 cubic meter glass cell filled with an organic gelatine, This is to be inspected daily by three D-Class Personnel under armed guard. If an SCP-5273-1 instance is active, it is to be held in a 5x5x5 meter room, standard concrete walls and steel doors. The Ceiling is to have reinforced glass windows that can be shuttered and sealed from the control room. SCP-5273-1 is to be deprived of sunlight unless it is undergoing interrogation or experimentation [UV lights have no effect]. Three D-class personnel are to clean the containment cell once a week or to take part in the experimentation under armed guard. SCP-5273-1 is to be rendered motionless after three days of being deprived of the sun. Under no circumstances is any staff member to approach more than two meters in proximity to SCP-5273 or SCP-5273-1, unless instructed to do so during an experiment, termination will be immediate if deviated from protocol. Under no circumstances is SCP-5273 and SCP-5273-1 to be agitated. If SCP-5273 becomes agitated it will attempt to breach containment. Researched has shown that manners and polite attitudes save lives. SCP-5273 and SCP-5273-1 has been known to kill and devour who has insulted or agitated it.
Description: SCP-5273 is a barnacle that controls an organic life form that it attaches itself to. It is 4 square inches in diameter and has a shallow cone shape to its hard pale shell crusted form, and is 1.5 inches tall.
Addendum Alpha: No known method of destroying, melting or crushing SCP-5273 has been successful.
SCP-5273-1 will sometimes respond aggressively to experimentation [CONTAINMENT UPDATE AS OF INCIDENT AO-3: Cell to be sealed and D-Class personnel is to be terminated if SCP-5273, or SCP-5273-1 makes physical contact with any inside.]

Incident Report AO:3: 14-6-19: AO-3; Experimentation of corrosive liquid [REDACTED] on the surface of SCP-5273 was underway when SCP-5273-1 suddenly lashed out at one of the D-class personnel attempting the apply [REDACTED] to the surface SCP-5273 and latched itself on to the lower thigh of D-5543. Conversion was instantaneous. Before containment could be assured, the new SCP-5273-1 [D-5273-D] left the containment room whilst the other two D-class personnel restrained the previous SCP-5273-1 [now regaining previous motor functions and personality] SCP-5273 was loose in the facility for 36 minutes before staff realised that SCP-5273 had left the occupant that resided in the cell that had now expired. SCP-5273-1 was found by MTF-Omega Five, sat outside the containment cell of SCP-049, and was talking softly. It is unclear if SCP-049 was ignoring SCP-5273-1 or simply could not hear it. Once approached, SCP-5273 sighed and spoke to SCP-049's door stating “I will look forward to our next talk, Doctor.” And simply returned to their Containment Cell with out any further issues.
Request From Item SCP-5273-1 Had recently requested on multiple occasions to visit SCP-049 – this is to be denied unless authorised by three 05 personnel in writing. It is unclear to why SCP-5273 or SCP-5273-1 feels the need for this meeting. [Pending approval – under armed guard]
Request Form Item SCP-5273-1 Recently requested to Visit Site-282 and converse with SCP-3288, it is unclear as to how SCP-5273-1 or SCP-5273 knows the location and existence of SCP-3288. This is to be denied unless authorised by the entire 05 Council.
