Project Proposal 1986-702: Painted Faces
Title: Painted Faces
Material Requirements: A white mask (already in my possession)
Some black ink (Already in my possession)
Around 100ml of Blood from a Chiroptera, more commonly known as a bat (I only have around 50ml in my possession.)
Abstract: The piece will be a simple white face mask with symbols painted inside it from the bat’s blood, to represent only seeing things as white, as bats can only see in black and white. The mask, when placed on someone’s face for a minimum of 5 seconds and taken off, will make the wearer will see the mask on anyone they look at, including themselves. This effect can be reversed by simply putting the mask on and off again. Also, the affected individual will be able to touch the masks that they see on others faces. They can even take the masks off of people’s faces, however, the masks that they take will not have the same effects as the original. This mask should be displayed in a glass container that can open on one side. People will be able to wear the mask to experience it’s effects.
Intent: This piece is meant to eliminate the need to judge people off from their faces. To show how wonderful the world can be if you don’t judge simply from your first impression of their face. Having everyone seem equal… will make the world appreciate each other's for their personalities. Of course, I can’t force this upon people. If I did, they would start to judge of something else like eye color. This choice is to be made by the wearer and the wearer only. Humanity needs to wake up.
Although, I fear humanity is already well awake and aware of what it’s doing to itself.
