SCP-XXXX upon obtainment, in an inactive state.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard human containment unit while in an inactive state. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, it cannot be contained. When SCP-XXXX teleports, Mobile Task Force (MTF Stigma-7 “Party Poopers’’) are to be sent out to the affected city to make sure no one gets into the city.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an American 12 gauge shotgun that will not fire in an inactive state. Every 6 months, the object will enter an active state. It will teleport to a seemingly random city in America, in a random house. Upon realization that SCP-XXXX is in the city, anybody in the city above the age of five will start to celebrate. They will claim ‘the war’s over’ and ‘the enemy is gone’. Anybody entering the city after the celebrations started will be considered an ‘enemy’ and will be shot by the person who currently has SCP-XXXX. Approximately 24 hours after initial exposure, the gun will teleport back to it’s original position. The civilians affected will have no memory of the event.

Addendum-XXXX-1: Discovery.
On the ██/██/1978, Foundation agents were sent out after multiple reports of the town ██████ celebrating ‘the war being over’, and shooting anybody coming into the town. The following is an interview with the only surviving member of the group.
