CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES: SCP-5888 is to be kept in a 1 Liter sealed oxygen tank in Storage site 13. Visual inspection of the tank once a week is advised and SCP-5888 shall be transferred into a different oxygen tank if the original tank becomes worn or damaged.
DESCRIPTION: SCP-5888 is a sentient being made entirely up of an invisible cloud of loose gases, the current size of SCP-5888 is estimated to be around 2-4 cubic feet. There are no visual ways to observe SCP-5888 and the only known way of observing its presence is if anyone walks into SCP-5888, they will notice the strong scent of dried and roasted coffee beans. SCP-5888 will actively seek out subjects and when it finds one, it will follow the subject wherever it goes. SCP-5888 will only leave the subject once it is “attacked” with a different scent, (ie: spraying Febreze, melting scented candles, and/or flatulence.) if multiple subjects are around, SCP-5888 will either choose the person who dislikes coffee the most or the person who likes coffee the least. When there are no subjects in SCP-5888’s direct line of sight, it will go into a docile state. This makes containment easy as it has no motive to leave its tank and can only observe its surroundings if they are in the same air as SCP-5888.
