+ The Bastard

view
Name: SCP-

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-‘s nest is to be kept at Site 19, with only Safe, low-threat SCPs accompanying it in the building. The cell its nest is kept in is a 5m by 5m terrarium complete with trees and a small pond. Feeding is done twice a day through a chute. Due to its anomalous properties and sardonic behavior, its knowledge of any other Foundation sites is to remain undisclosed to it. Any object that is not already another SCP in the facility that SCP- takes for itself is to be kept by it. Any SCPs it takes is to be substituted with a replica, or something that can appeal to SCP-‘s interest in the stolen SCP.

Description: SCP- is a 1 m tall, 6.3 kg fleshy organism. It has a fat torso on short legs ending in webbed feet, bat-like wings, a neck leading to two humanoid typically side-facing eyes – though they can face forward when SCP- focuses on something – a large mouth placed below the neck filled with small bristle-like teeth, and two long arms ending in tridactyl humanoid hands. These arms don’t seem to have a normal bone structure, more akin to worms in their movement. The neck seems to move in the same way, but the legs look to have a more expected bone structure. The presence of wings and webbed feet suggest it is capable of both aerial and aquatic travel respectively.
SCP- is not outright aggressive, but will become so if it feels threatened, cornered, or if its “possessions” seem to be in danger of being taken from it. SCP-‘s behavior seems to be more of a troublemaker. Its only desires and motives seem to be collection of trinkets and causing chaos, ranging from minor pranks to destructive rampages, as noted in Discovery Log and Interview Log 1. It does not seem outwardly malicious in its deeds, almost acting like it’s the only thing it knows how to do. It is currently observed to be comfortable with causing light mayhem in its facility. However, if it knew what level of chaos it could create with the resources of the Foundation, it could end in any sort of end of the world scenario.
SCP- has been shown using basic problem-solving capabilities, comparable to the intelligence of a crow. It uses this intelligence to figure out how to get what it wants, or to create more chaos. It can be tricked relatively easily, but whether or not SCP- will decide to stay trapped is entirely up to it. SCP- only seems to understand basic concepts of what people say around it, somewhat like a dog.
SCP- has been seen displaying the following anomalous abilities:
•Teleportation: It has not been seen anywhere other than Site ab since its capture. It’s unknown if it prefers the facility, or if it is not aware of other facilities other than its own. However, it has teleported to multiple points in the facility.
•Limited ontological inertia: Despite being able to be trapped somewhat easily, it almost seems to choose whether or not it wants to continue being trapped. If it’s killed, another version of it shows up nearby within approximately 5 minutes.
•Invisibility to any pre-sight detection: If a sapient entity is not observing SCP- with their own eyes, it is immune to any other form of observation or detection, including radar, sonar, or motion detection.
•Minor fear-enhancing abilities: During attacks, SCP-‘s shriek and defensive stance seems to yield a startled reaction and briefly throw opponent off rhythm, regardless of if the opponent has the upper hand. Fully armed MTF members have been seen being affected by this anomaly. Piloted robotic capture units are not affected, but reach extends to the pilot.

Discovery: SCP- was originally captured following the destruction of a small village in [REDACTED], England. During investigation, Agent Danvers discovered SCP-‘s nest in the nearby woods, with various trinkets discovered to originate from the village. After several failed capture attempts, it was discovered that using its “collection” as bait proved successful, if difficult.
A survivor from the village, Daniel Strasser, was found amongst the rubble. Strasser was detained and interviewed at the facility SCP- was brought to.

<BEGIN INTERVIEW LOG 1>
DR. ALEXANDER: Good afternoon, Mr. Strasser.
STRASSER: Um, hey.
DR. ALEXANDER: Don’t worry, Mr. Strasser. I just want to ask you a few questions regarding your village and the creature we found residing near it.
STRASSER: You mean the Bastard? Did you get it??
DR. ALEXANDER: Yes, we did.
STRASSER: Oh, thank god.
DR. ALEXANDER: You called it the Bastard? Is that what people in your village called it?
STRASSER: Yeah, and if you met it, you’d get why. Everyone in the village knew about it. It was like our Mothman, or Flatwoods Monster, you know?
DR. ALEXANDER: I see. How come we’ve never heard of it?
STRASSER: Sorry?
DR. ALEXANDER: Why didn’t your village, say, try to capitalize on the creature’s existence?
STRASSER: Oh god, there’s no way. Trust me, nobody would wanna visit to try to spot that bell-end.
DR. ALEXANDER: Why’s that?
STRASSER: Why do you think we called it the Bastard?! This thing made our lives miserable! It stole our food, terrorized our children, hell, it’s caused accidents! IT BLEW UP OUR FUCKING VILLAGE!
DR. ALEXANDER: Well-
[SCP- suddenly appears in the room, causing Strasser to panic. Guards entered the chamber and engaged SCP- as Dr. Alexander escorted Strasser out of the chamber. Strasser was given amnestics and relocated to [REDACTED], England.
