Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5000 is to be contained with constant supervision
in a 10x10x10 meter specially-constructed cell, with
extreme shielding measures so that none of its effects
affect the organisms or life outside the cell. Personnel
must wear bio-hazard suits to protect themselves from
the effects afflicted by SCP-5000.
Description:
SCP-5000 is a bell-shaped object primarily composed of
[REDACTED]. It was discovered and detained by the
Foundation shortly after World War 2 from a Nazi German
facility known as Der Riese near [REDACTED]. It measures
at about 2.5 meters wide and 4.5 meters tall, and its outer
shell is made from Lichtmetall, a German alloy composed
of several metallic substances including thorium and beryllium.
On the inside of the device,
two rapidly counter rotating discs were found, which when
activated, severely alter the electromagnetic field
surrounding SCP-5000 and enables it to levitate against
the conventional forces of gravity. The thermos-flask discs
are encased with many layers of lead shielding and are filled
with approximately 5 liters of a purple,
mercury-like liquid known as [REDACTED] each.
A small cockpit is located in the top of the device, which holds
space for a small human pilot. When activated, SCP-5000
begins to levitate, and, without proper stability being applied
(such as chains affixed to its sides and held down to the ground)
it shakes extremely violently. The radioactive and caustic nature
of SCP-5000's fuel causes life to be severely affected. Such
effects include blood and tissue crystalizing, stopping flow of
blood and eventually leading to aneurisms, blood would turn
to a gel-like substance and most skin and plants would
decay and decompose rapidly into a greasy substance, if not
protected properly according to procedures administered by
the SCP Foundation. A small, 0.5x0.5 meter mirror, known as
SCP-5000-1, is placed on one side of SCP-5000. Test subjects
supposedly witnessed images of "events and people from the past,
present, and future" when looking into the mirror for several seconds
or even minutes. If one stares for over 10 minutes, the mirror will
begin to crack slightly and the images will disappear. These images
have never been specified and appear to be subject and different
to any one person looking into the mirror. Very occasionally, images
of early Nazi propaganda and imagery will appear, but only to select
people of certain origin. Currently, 7 personnel have fallen victim to
the toxic effects exhibited by SCP-5000 and 3 have suffered signs
mental illnesses after staring at SCP-5000-1 for hours on end,
seemingly entranced by its images. Anyone who stares for this long
into SCP-5000-1 will be then classified as SCP-5000-2 and so on.
They are then immediately taken to have psychiatric evaluations
performed on them and are given their own cells if they are not
promptly rehabilitated. SCP-5000 has a swastika engraved into
its right side, and seemingly hyroglific-like writings engraved into
its sides on its metal base, painted in white. It is still unknown as
to what these writings mean, and they have never been decoded.
