Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5XXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment cell in Site-██ equiped with basic amenities, adjacent rooms must be empty at all times other than testing and are to be fumigated twice a week.
One D-Class personnel is to remain inside SCP-5XXX containment cell at all times, no more than one person is allowed inside SCP-5XXX containment chamber outside of testing and medical treatment for SCP-5XXX-A instances, D-Class personnel inside SCP-5XXX are to remain inside the containment cell until SCP-5XXX loses interest in the subject, the subject expires or the subject starts to manifest anomalous properties. As soon as one of this conditions is met the subject is to be inmediately withdrawn from the containment cell and is to be replaced by another suitable D-Class personnel. If D-Class personnel is found to be an SCP-5XXX-A instance they are to be kept inside the containment chamber until they expire, all medical treatment to the SCP-5XXX instance is to be performed inside the chamber with no exceptions, the chamber may be adapted in accordance to foundation doctor's needs, SCP-5XXX-A is to be kept alive as long as possible even if against its own desires, medically induced commas are adviced.
Due to the nature of SCP-5XXX containment breaches involving it are frequent1, as such a misinformation campaing is currently ongoing to make recapturing of the item outside foundation facilities easier.
Description: SCP-5XXX is a mosquito () which has been painted with green neon paint in order to distinguish it. SCP-5XXX is apparently imposible to kill or contain by any means, the current containment procedure however has proven succesful in maintaining SCP-5XXX under control by lurring it towards a specific spot. SCP-5XXX will inexplicably escape any situation where it would perish, such as flying out of the way of a person's closing hands, manifesting outside a room filled with noxious gases or surviving weeks without any substenance. This ability doesn't seem to be limited to dangerous situations as SCP-5XXX has shown to be capable of flying out of an airtight sealed room if it deems it boring or finds something outside more compelling, it is beacuse of this reasons the current containment procedures have been implement with the purpose of making the containment cell of SCP-5XXX much more appealing to it than the adjacent ones as to minimize the risk of containment breaches.
SCP-5XXX is a carrier for multiple disease, both of anomalous and non-anomalous properties, some of which were considered erradicated. It had been theorised that SCP-5XXX carried this disease in the same manner a common mosquito would (by transfering blood from one person or animal to the next, transmiting blood-born disieases found in the blood sample) this has proven not to be the case as SCP-5XXX can carry any kind of diseases. Diseases found inside SCP-5XXX so far include: malaria, herpes, smallpox, SCP-610, parkinson, down syndrome, lung cancer, [REDACTED], among oters. Discovery: SCP-5XXX was found in a house in [REDACTED] where local authorities were alerted to a smallpox outbreak, covert foundation agents were sent to investigate, upon ispecting the family it was found that they had all recently been biten by mosquitoes, some of the doctors sent to treat the outbreak also reported itching corresponding to mosquito bites despite wearing protective equipment, SCP-5XXX was then found and taken into foundation custody. A cover story for the smallpox outbreak was created.
Addendum 5XXX.1: As of 20/09/20██ all testing related to SCP-5XXX has been forbidden outside SCP-5XXX containment cell, aditionally testing with the item will now require level 4/5XXX clearance, site administrator approval and must be submite through the form 5XXX-4029002, failure to comply will result in harsh disciplinary actions.
Addendum 5XXX.2: Observation of SCP-5XXX has revealed that it posseses preferences for certain people over others, some D-Class personnel (Now classified as SCP-5XXX-B) were never bitten during their stay with SCP-5XXX, reviewing of this stays proved that SCP-5XXX was more likely to breach containment during this periods. On the contrary SCP-5XXX has also shown an increased interest towards some particlar subjects (Now classified as SCP-5XXX-A) resulting in it never leaving the subjects company until subject expired, when this subjects were removed from SCP-5XXX containment chamber, SCP-5XXX would always folow them, resulting in a containment breach, conversly when the subjects remained in the containment cell containment breaches were avoided entirely. Containment procedures have peen updated accordingly.
