Special Containment Procedures: SCP-000 is to remain deactivated and placed in a soundproof containment locker unless otherwise instructed by the containment manager. While in use, SCP-000 should not be activated for prolonged periods due to its self-destructive nature. Any activation event must be supervised by an on-site containment manager.

Description: SCP-000 is an 11.3 kilogram wireless telegraphy device mechanically identical to that of a BC-348 aircraft reciever aside from severe damage [See appedix-RC]. While active, SCP-000 receives a signal that cannot be handled by the sound chip, resulting in high frequency clipping. Said clipping is detrimental to the longevity of SCP-000. The anomalous properties of SCP-000 have not yet been attributed to any part(s) of the machine, and it remains undetermined whether or not SCP-000 can be repaired while also retaining certain key traits.

Hardware monitoring and recorded sound-samples indicate that SCP-000 produces high-pitched fuzz and noise, however test subjects who directly listen to SCP-000 report the sound of trumpets, cheering, and often draw comparisons to a parade. Subjects also report an experience of euphoria while listening to SCP-000, even if they have an averse reaction to the recorded version.

Appendix-000 - Retrieval Supplement: Foundation personnel retrieved SCP-000 along with a copy of the Instruction Book for Operation and Maintenance of Radio Receiver BC-348-E, Radio Receiver BC-348-M, Radio Receiver BC-348-P. This manual appears to be irreversibly damaged. The vast majority of the manual has been removed and the remaining pages contain notes and text not seen in the original published manual.

Destruction of

Abandoned Materiel in the Combat Zone

In case it should become necessary to prevent the capture of this equipment and when ordered to do so,

DESTROY IT SO THAT NO PART OF IT CAN BE SALVAGED, RECOGNIZED OR USED BY THE ENEMY. BURN ALL PAPERS AND BOOKS.

Means:

1. Explosives, when provided.
2. Hammers, axes, sledges or whatever heavy object is readily available.
3. Burning by means of incendiaries such as gasoline, oil, paper or wood.
4. Grenades and shots from available arms.
5. Where possible, and when time permits, bury all debris or dispose of it in streams or other bodies of water.

Procedure:

1. Obliterate all identifying marks. Destroy nameplates and circuit labels.
2. Demolish all panels, castings, switch- and instrument-boards. X
3. Destroy all controls, switches, relays, connections and meters. X
4. Rip out all wiring in electrical equipment. Smash gas, oil and water cooling systems in gas-engine generators, etc. Why can't I do this?
5. Smash every electrical or mechanical part whether rotating, moving or fixed.
6. Break up all operating instruments such as keys, phones, microphones, etc.
7. Destroy all classes of carrying cases, straps, containers, etc.
