Scp - Dorian's Canvas
Class - safe
SCP is a 40x30 cm canvas depicting a hand painted scene of a modest house with an oak tree to its left. A swing set on the right. Originally recovered from the collections of deceased collecter [REDACTED], SCP was brought into the organization when it was discovered to be autonomously changing to depict different seasons. There are no author initials on the canvas, however the bottom right of the canvas has a date in small numerals. At present there are four children painted in various scenarios, however when brought into the foundation, there was reportedly none depicted. Upon showing SCP to class D personell, it has been observed that analysing the painting causes a child figure to appear in it within 24 hours. Furhermore, it has been noted that the date on the canvas appears different for each observer.
The back of the canvas has written on it the following passage
'Do you remember the place we used to grow?
Our hearts aligned, and the seasons danced around us
And we sang, unchanging, and the wind bowed before us
I miss those summers, how we used to play
We were eternal, until you told me
You couldnt stay '
Analysis has shown the passage to be written with a featherpen, black ink with trace amounts of blood. It has been dated to be at least 200 years old, which defies the modern scene depicted on the painting.
Entry 2- After the death of two class d personnel aforementioned, it has now been revealed that the date on canvas, unique to observer, appears to be the date of their death. SCP does not appear to have a causal relation to how the observer dies. However, researchers have discovered that painting over a figure will cause its represented observer to vanish, leaving non organic material behind. Hiding or covering the canvas causes observers represented wihin to become catatonically depressed, whereas displaying the canvas openly has the opposite effect. Due to this, and the fact one civillian and two indispensible researches are depicted, containment has proven innefective.
Containment protocol : Must remain displayed, in a gallery of low traffic, class d personnel.
Entry 3: Scp seems to have a limit of 13 represented observers, after a death of the observer represented, a figure from the group will dissapear from the scene, and the rest will appear to have funeral garments and some have been observed as depicted crying.
