Catmint's Sandbox

All WIPS have short summary at the top and any actual document work beneath.

An anomalous grove of flora that continuously regrows and can’t be permanently destroyed, but is easily contained with salt. Every so often, it produces anomalous thaumatological items that are then ‘stuck’ to it- they regrow there if damaged significantly or destroyed.
It creates most of the other SCPS in these tabs, and now they’re dumping salt if it tries anything. Connected to a narrative of two witches, Strawberry and Catmint.
Euclid, due to it being the kind of thing that could easily keep growing forever, but relatively easy containment via lots of salt.

Intended to evoke wonder & curiosity.

SCP-XXXX - ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’
Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Elucid

Special Containment Procedures: The site containing SCP-_ is to be blocked from civilian entry under the guise of a hazardous waste cleanup [Cover story 3935.18 “Hazardous Waste Disaster”?], with a 4 meter tall barbed wire fence & 6 meters of concrete footing surrounding the 10 meter wide buffer zone. There must be a well-maintained 2-meter-thick line of salt around the entirety of the foliage of the site, checked daily for breakages. Paths of salt 1 meter thick to areas of interest are recommended due to thickness of foliage making navigation difficult. The site must have a basic security & maintenance team at all times, and regular drone flyovers are to be performed every 6-12 hours to check for anomalous growth patterns.

Following Incident xxxx-۞, a well-maintained, tracked loader must be on site & loaded with salt at all times, to interrupt any active-phase anomalous growth patterns. Any exceptions must be approved by 3-5 level 4 researchers and monitored by on-site security. In the event of a catastrophic breach, MTF Theta-4 ("Gardeners") may be deployed in order to re-contain the site.

Description: SCP-_ is a # by # acre anomalous grove located in [REDACTED]. It was discovered after

Navigating the site is often difficult as it is heavily inundated with anomalous flora, sometimes up to 1.5 meters in height. While new species are being recorded every day, the primary species is as follows:

  • An unknown genus of Betula superficially resembling Betula papyrifera (Paper Birch).
  • Several unknown and apparently mutualistic variety of Fragaria plants, superficially resembling several different species in the genus, notably Fragaria daltoniana (Himalayan Strawberry).
  • A large number of fruiting vines of unknown genus superficially resembling a cross between Hedera helix (English Ivy) and some form of Vitis labrusca (Fox Grape) cultivar.
  • Several different varieties of an unknown, bioluminescent type of Polypore (Shelf Fungus), presumed to be mutualistic with the Betula.

Active phase of SCP-_ is generally understood to begin when an item or entity associated with it is heavily damaged or destroyed.
