Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept in a 1m x 1m x 1m soundproof containment locker at Site-█. Testing with SCP-XXXX-1 must be approved by at least one Level 3 Researcher.
Researchers and security officers are forbidden from touching SCP-XXXX-1 except when transporting it to and from testing. During transportation, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be escorted by a minimum of 4 security officers. Anyone who attempts to open SCP-XXXX-1 outside of testing is to be reclassified as SCP-XXXX-A and terminated immediately in order to prevent a containment breach.
SCP-XXXX-2 should never under any circumstances be operated by anyone with prior knowledge of its anomalous properties. Due to the recursive nature of SCP-XXXX-2s anomalous effect, the risk of a containment breach increases exponentially the longer SCP-XXXX-2 is in operation. For this reason, subjects operating SCP-XXXX-2 for testing purposes must wear a specialized explosive device at the base of their skull, which may be detonated at the discretion of the lead researcher if the risk of a containment breach becomes too high.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a carrying case measuring approximately 36cm x 40cm x 22cm in size. It appears to have been made by Hohner Musikinstrumente, a German manufacturer of musical instruments, though this particular case shows signs of heavy modification.
Spectrometric analysis has revealed that SCP-XXXX-1 is mostly made up of leather and brass with small traces of plastic and steel, though the contents of the case cannot be identified while the case is closed due to its anomalous properties. Despite being completely separate from one another the latches at the top of the case will only open if they are both operated simultaneously by the same person. See Addendum:
While closed, SCP-XXXX-1 weighs approximately 6.3kg. Attempts to measure the weight of SCP-XXXX-1 while it is open have revealed massive fluctuations in its mass, though this is an expected side effect of its anomalous properties.
In the event that a sapient creature opens SCP-XXXX-1, they are designated SCP-XXXX-A and the contents of SCP-XXXX-1 are designated SCP-XXXX-2 until they have been returned to SCP-XXXX-1 and both of its latches are firmly closed.
