Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-4406 is to be locked in an air tight container constructed of military grade steel. Two meters of vacuum must be maintained at all times from the closest point of any wall with the only exception being a lead faraday cage one meter out from the internal structure, an exhaust tube coming out of the top of the structure made of aluminium, controls for the trap door and an injection tube for feeding the subject. No human contact is to made with SCP as risk of infection. SCP-4406's containment unit is suspended using a magnetic levitation system and only has one electromagnetically locked door towards the top of the containment unit. All exhaust and food injections are to be magnetically locked on both ends to avoid containment breach. The site of which SPC-4406 was discovered is to be kept under lockdown until further notice at the site created site ████. SCP-4406-997 and all excretory reservoirs are to be kept at site ████ unless transport of reservoirs is required. Surveillance is mandatory at all times.
Description: SCP-4406 is a hiveminded parasite that infects though all physical contact excluding hair and nails. The physical form of SCP-4406 is a large spheroid object (or nucleus) engulphed in a viscous opaque greenish-brown fluid that will harden into a translucent shell if it feels threatened. All current attempts to damage the shield-like material have failed.
SCP-4406 was discovered in ████████, ███████, ████████ in a dense forested area surrounded by bones of differing native mammals, including some human remains. It can only be transported by [DATA EXPUNGED].
SCP-4406's fluid will slowly decay into a harmless gas, all testing on the gas has remained inconclusive and its molecular makeup is unknown. Emission of this gas results in both low concentration gamma radiation and radio waves the interfere with any sound emitting device in a 200m radius. Any device affected by the waves will transmit a high pitch frequency causing people who can hear it to obtain a strong desire to see and touch SCP-4406 ultimately resulting in infection.
If physically restrained the subject affected will go through one of two states. The first is bleeding out of facial orifices followed by a two (2) day coma if treated for bleeding. The second is multiple brain hemorrhages causing instant death. Causes of the differing outcomes is unknown.
SCP-4406's hosts will further be known as SCP-4406-1 or subject.
SCP-4406 can use move around similar to an amoeba and can climb almost any surface. It's limitations for movement is that it cant travel though spaces smaller than in's internal spheroid appendage. It's fluid can use its 'Pseudos' to reach out to make contact to any mammal. Once in contact with a creature, SCP-4406 will quickly attack the central-nervous system, infecting it. Whilst infected,SCP-4406-1 will start to excrete the green fluid from its salivary, endocrine, bile and sweat glands and will start replacing SCP-4406-1's blood with the unidentified green fluid, giving SCP-4406 more control of SCP-4406-1. Next it attacks the sweat and slavery glands forcing them to excrete the fluid, taking on the same properties as the fluid engulfing SCP-4406.
Once the transformation has completed SCP-4406 will use SCP-4406-1 to feed it its excremental fluid and will only bring harm to the subject if it is starving. In this situation SCP-4406 will consume SCP-4406-1, absorbing its fluid. If SCP-4406 is malnourished it will go into a rage, being able to [DATA EXPUNGED]
There is only one known assimilation of SCP-4406. Officer ████████ was infected and is now kept in a shock collar at site ████ and is known as SCP-4406-997. Intentions of SCP-4406-997 is to collects excrement to feed SPC-4406 and to communicate with the hivemind. SCP-4406-997 is extremely docile.
