Item Class: Euclid
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard-size coffin, 180 x 52.5 x 30 centimeters. It is made primarily out of wood, which has been carbon-dated to approximately 1860. The coffin emits a weak psychic lure that entices nearby humans to enter the coffin and close the lid, claiming that they need to "rest". Once a human has entered the coffin and closed the lid, six identical pallbearers, known as SCP-XXXX-1, will appear around the coffin, hovering two inches above the ground. The pallbearers are humanoid entities with no facial features or hair, each wearing a black suit and tie. The pallbearers, rather than materializing out of thin air, will begin as a single point in space and grow in size until they are exactly six feet tall. During this process, they will move their legs as if walking in place, still hovering two inches above the ground. Upon full materialization, the pallbearers will pick up the coffin, with the subject inside, and resume walking in place. At this point, the pallbearers, as well as the coffin, will rapidly begin to shrink until they disappear entirely. The effect has been likened to the appearance of a two-dimensional cross-section of a brain in an MRI scan growing and shrinking as the scan passes over the brain, only in three dimensions instead of two. The coffin will reappear after fifteen minutes in the same manner as the pallbearers, but invariably no longer containing the original subject or occupant.

Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 2.5 x 3.5 meter room with a keypad lock, the code for which is to be changed every 24 hours. No less than three armed guards with cognitohazard resistance training are to be present at all times. Researchers requesting to access SCP-XXXX must have their proposal approved by the site administrator and no less than two researchers must be present during experimentation.

Addendum:
SCP-XXXX was first discovered by archaeology students in ██████, Pennsylvania on August 15th, 1993. The artifact was soon moved to the █████ Civil War History Museum. Following an incident on September 8th of that year, the artifact was moved into foundation custody (see incident report XXXX-Alpha).

Incident Report XXXX-Alpha:
At 10:30 AM on September 8th, 1993, the artifact was removed from museum storage to be prepared for display. Upon initially opening the coffin, museum staff were reportedly confused by the lack of human remains inside the coffin, and spent several minutes studying the artifact in an effort to find out to whom it originally belonged. At approximately 10:45 AM, museum employee Dr. ██████ informed his colleagues that he was "fatigued" and promptly climbed inside the coffin, closing the lid - much to the confusion of his colleagues. Three other staff members immediately attempted to reopen the lid, but found it sealed by some unknown mechanism. At this point, six instances of SCP-XXXX-1 began to appear around the coffin and promptly picked it up and dematerialized, with the coffin reappearing fifteen minutes later with Dr. ██████ no longer inside. At this point, local authorities were contacted, quickly leading to the involvement of Foundation personnel.
