Item #: SCP-5867

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: As SCP-5867 is not particularly harmful, it's containment does not need anything special. However, making sure physical contact does not happen is a must. Keep at least two highly vetted guards stationed near it all all times, that way no personal come near it. Only allow one person in at a time, other than the guards, the visitor must be at least a class-C.

Description: Similar to SCp-109, this SCP takes the form of a flask. However, the exact origins of this SCP are unknown. Dr. [Redacted] was on an expedition to [Redacted] and accidentally stumbled across SCP-109. Thinking it was nothing but a normal flask, Dr. [Redacted] took it to help aid him in [Redacted]. (Tabs were being kept on Dr. [Redacted] for safety assurance, but no levels seemed to change at any point when he drank from the flask)

Eventually the terrain in [Redacted] began to get harsher and a [Redacted] storm forced him to hide underground for [Redacted]. In that time, it is unclear when, Dr. [Redacted] had finished drinking from the flask. However, when he emerged from his hiding place the terrain above ground was scorching hot. Though this was the case, Dr. [Redacted] began to walk aimlessly in the wasteland until he suffered from dehydration; at which point he did pass away.

His vital signs vanished off the monitors maps for only a few seconds, and suddenly his vitals reappeared back where he was stuck underground. It was at this point the extraction team was sent in to find him and return him to the facilities. However, by the time the team got there, Dr. [Redacted] had already left, however, they remained stationed where his vitals reappeared. After [Redacted] had passed, once again Dr. [Redacted] reappeared though it took longer this time than before.

When he was taken back to the facilities, he was questioned as to why his vitals kept vanishing, and he would come back to the same underground spot. Dr. [Redacted] showed visible signs of confusion, stating that he had never even left the hideaway until he was extracted. Once Dr. [Redacted] had released this information, he was immediately stripped of all items and quarantined. The SCP Foundation noticed he had a flask they had not provided, and question him remotely.

Dr. [Redacted] explained how he came across the flask and how he thought nothing of it. He explained to them he had drank all the contents of it when he was in the hideaway, however the bottle was filled when the SCP Foundation had checked it. This set off red flags in the SCP Foundation and tests were conducted immediately.

The first test was to test it's similarity to SCP-109, but the liquid did come out of the bottle and not refill. They recollected the liquid and put it back in the flask, having a Class-E drink the liquid. There were no adverse affects at first, but they put the Class-E into Quarantine. Not long after, however, it was reported that the Class-E had shot himself, yet there was no body to be found in the room.

This led the SCP foundation to look into the flask even more, and they found the flask to be refilled and the Class-E was in the room. Much like Dr. [Redacted] he was sent into questioning, and parroted the fact that they don't remember actually doing the test. More tests were conducted using multiple Class-E's until a conclusion was reached.

SCP-5867 had been observed to be the real life equivalent of a checkpoint. Each time the flask was emptied, the previous drinker would have no effects. However, when they were terminated for testing purposes, they would always show up right next to the flask; unharmed but with no memories of drinking from said flask.

Though not particularly harmful in any way, the SCP Foundation recognizes this as a potential danger in the wrong hands and has classified it as an Euclid class of SCP. Further testing is needed.
