Special Containment Procedures: MTF Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") are to monitor any major organizations wherever possible for disproportionately inactive members of leadership. If any such individual is found they are to be marked for further investigation by personnel capable of identifying SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Description: SCP-XXXX is a global phenomenon where instances of Felis catus¹ are found in positions of high authority in major human organizations.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances are physically non-anomalous cats of varying breeds who are found to be in positions of authority under a human persona. SCP-XXXX-1 are under the effect of a cognitiohazard rendering them indistinguishable from their assumed personas by the vast majority of the human populace². SCP-XXXX-1 instances. No records of the origins of the SCP-XXXX-1 instances exist, although numerous false records and even individual memories associated with their personas have been found. All SCP-XXXX-1 instances are attended to by staff who fail to regard the differences in diet and lifestyles between their specific instance and an adult human as odd.

When interacting with humans each exposed individual will form their own recollection of events surrounding the interaction, however in cases where their memories differ from their perception of consensus they will be altered to fit in ~99.6% of cases.

It has been found that those able to recognize instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are only able to do so with direct sensory contact, obstructing identification efforts.

A secondary effect of the anomaly is that any person aware of the anomalous or feline attributes of SCP-XXXX-1 are unable to coherently plan to remove them from their positions. The degree to which cognition is inhibited by this effect is correlated to the awareness of a specific instance SCP-XXXX-1's properties. As a result all efforts to remove an instance must be through preexisting channels, this has complicated containment efforts for instances in authoritarian settings as few channels exist if any.

As SCP-XXXX-1 are otherwise non-anomalous Felis catus their expected lifespans are roughly 15 years. When an instance has perished of natural causes their persona is generally regarded as having either retired or perished. Should an instance be dismissed from their position they are no longer under the effects of SCP-XXXX and may be treated as a non-anomalous Felis catus, however should their personas regain authority by some means they will once more be affected by the anomaly.
