SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX's containment is placed on the middle of it's small containment cell on level 3 security clearances within Site-06. The SCP is located inside a small 25 x 25 centimeters solid and reinforced sealed concrete box, extremely heat absorbent. SCP-XXXX is rarely touched or seen by any staff member and is only used for daily checks and tests, that are always followed by medical and psychiatric personnel, to ensure it doesn't teleport. Almost no researches have been able to actually see it in person, majoraty who have seen it are D-Class Personnel, few of which survived during tests. SCP-XXXX does not require food or water for it's survival. Cameras are also installed in it's cell but are not used frequently.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a Led Light Bulb E-27 13W 1311 6500k White Light A65 Phillips. It cannot move by itself and appears to be harmless. SCP-XXXX cannot light up in its containment even in contact with high amounts of electricity, however it can light itself with no contact of any electricity in only one known specific location: ███████.

It requires special containment and is classified Euclid for having reports showing it attracts people closer to it, tests have shown short distance takes 5.4 seconds for the anomaly to begin taking effect, eye contact takes 2.3 seconds and touch is instant. After controlling the individual, SCP-XXXX forces them to carry it and go to [DATA REDACTED], where the SCP will emitt huge amount of light that blinds, burns and disintegrates the individual after 3.5 seconds, and, in some cases, emmits more light to disintegrate someone who tries to escape. It's containment will hopefully stop the extreme light in case of a change in behaviour of SCP-XXXX since the containment's material has been proven to be effective against extreme heat.

Attempts of following the controlled individual and stopping them from reaching the location before disintegrating have been failed with some of the team's lives lost even with reinforced heat protected gear. An estimated total of ███ lives were lost due to SCP-XXXX. Other attempts of breaking or damaging SCP-XXXX in any way have been shown non-successful.

After killing the person, SCP-XXXX teleports to another location, preferably a populated area, to control another victim, however if it awaits for too long, approximately 24 hours at maximum, SCP-XXXX is teleported again. Staff and personnel find it to be potentionally useful with tests on "indestructible" materials found by the Foundation, however it's not predictable how SCP-XXXX can be prevented from affecting Staff or D-Class Personnel. SCP-XXXX does not interact or harm any life form, apart from humans, unless threatened.

The SCP was discovered in the United States in [DATA REDACTED]. No traces or data show where SCP-XXXX was created, however, it is theorized that the object was created in [DATA REDACTED], establishing it's connection to the location.

Addendum: Operation Light was an operation team formed and sent by the SCP Foundation to retrieve and contain SCP-XXXX after discovering it by Field Agents. This squad had no high quality gear and wore goggles with built-in cameras and microphones, that would help the Staff to guide the operation. The Foundation's Research team with level 3 clearance were using the 5 D-Class Personnel that composed the team as a test to get to know what SCP-XXXX is like and if possible, the containment of the object.

After the team equipped themselves they were headed to coordinates sent by the Foundation, coordinates to the location in the United States where SCP-XXXX was last found and reported. The operation was initially going according to plan and the squad was cautious, until they arrived to the destination. Each individual was assigned by the Research Team a location to look for SCP-XXXX. D-███, a member of the operation, told the Staff he felt odd, after being told to keep searching, the member did not follow orders and headed to where SCP-XXXX was, D-███ then picked it up and began walking out of the location. The Research Team inicially began theorizing this was an escape plan, however the Research Team later realized this was a behaviour of SCP-XXXX. After 2 hours of walking to the location, D-███ and the Staff looked at the light bulb as an almost instant flash of light appeared and footage was gone.

The Research Team began theorizing and discussing amongst themselves before having been notified the rest of the team had been following D-███ and had been traumatized by what they had witnessed. The camera footage had shown D-███ dissapearing after an instant flash of light. After a non-successful retrieving and containment of SCP-XXXX, the loss of D-███ and the trauma inflicted in the rest of the team, the Staff provided the rest of the operation with psychiatric personnel and immedietly reported the information of the SCP to the O5 Council, which later began handing a Mobile Task Force heat resistant gear and small containment boxes, each made of different heat absorbent materials to hopefully retrieve and contain the anomaly in Site-06.
