Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is to be kept in a high-security locker in Storage in site-77. All testing on SCP-xxxx has to be authorized by an researcher with level 4 clearance. Testing on D-Class subjects is permitted.

Description: SCP-xxxx is an old tape-recorder produced in 1955 in the USA. It was discovered in 1999 in the collection of a private collector of Vietnam War artefacts. He was delivered into a hospital after fainting; caused by listening to one of the logs. This log is only partially reconstructed because it wasn't played in Foundation controle and so could't be completly reconstructed by the listening subject and only be partially reconstructed by the collector.
A Foundation Agent interviewed him about his experience. He was administered amnestics afterwards.
For the reconstruction See Addendum xxxx-1.

The recorder was stolen soon after and was transported all over the world collecting by collectors, other Goi's but always got lost and continued to land in another victims hands collecting all kinds of traumatizing logs. It was finally recovered by a MTF Unit in Fukushima after the nuclear incident and then brought back to his containment site. The transporter was raided and a final log was recorded.
See addendum xxxx-356

SCP's xxxx anomolous properties are his ability to record on hisself without being activated and an ability to manipulate humans.
Scp xxxx typically lands in the hands of soldiers, Mtf's and other people with a high risk factor in their jobs or usual life. These people take xxxx into possession and always have it with them. They register owning this recorder and will even buy it. It's unknown why the victim does or why they always have it with them ,but when asked they can never find an answer but also reject the idea of putting it away.
The recordings always start a few minutes before the victims death. The victims don't register the recording. While listening to the logs the recorder shows no anomalous properties beseides the listeners ability to make a very good picture of what was happening at that time. Then suddenly the listener faints and will be knocked out for exactly the duration of the played log. Then wakes up strongly traumatized anwith an exact memory of the timespan recorded in the log, claiming to have just expierienced the last moments.
Any attempts to record xxxx have failed.
All listeners are to be administered class-a amnestics, even tho there are no long time effects from listening to the logs.
The anomality doesn't show any lethality whilst the blackouted phase of expieriencing the Logs content.

The following Addendums are some of the most remarkable logs to be discovered to yet.

Addendum: Audio-log 1
This is a log asumed to be a firefight during the vietnam war.

(Explosion and intense screaming)
Addendum: Audio-log 354&and355
345 was recorded whilst the catastrophe of Fukushima and was recorded by one of the workers in the core facility. The log isn't all too long and all in all is hell lot of chaos.
log 355 is a log of one of the mobile task force agents searching Fukushima for anomalies it also recorded an encounter with SCP-3456 in that he died.

Addendum: Audio-log 356
This log was recorded in a raid on the transporter that delivered SCP-xxxx to its site. The transporter was attacked by unidentified bandits and the mobile task force agent that had taken xxxx into his bag was shot dead.

There are many more logs containing scenes of war chaos and even a whole lot of SCP encounters.
But due to the nature of the recorder there are no recordings of the life logs and all information has to be written down.
