Image of subject XXXX when containment personnel found them

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid [See Test A]

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a box below the temperature of -5 °C surrounded by water. This freezes the water surrounding XXXX meaning it will not move due to the dencity of the ice surrounding it. The box must be kept in a temperature controlled room. When personnel must enter XXXX's room, suitable footwear must be worn and shoes must be approved by a level 3 or above administration staff. Room must be re-frozen before personnel leave and object must not be moving.

The room's cooling system and the room itself must be checked every other day to make sure temperature is below -5 °C. Experiments may only be carried out at the request of a level 2 personnel or higher.

Description: SCP-XXXX are a pair of white athletic socks that come up to the mid-shin. They have one hole in each sock where the ankle bone is. XXXX moves slowly when not in contact with any organic material, however when in contact with an object capable of movement, it will attach it's self to said object allowing it move at speeds of in excess of 150 mph. Alone however, they slide across the floor looking for a 'host'. Socks may be separated but are advised to be kept together as it allows only 1 box to be used. The area under the sock however, will start to decay. Feet exposed to XXXX are able to move at speeds of 100 mph after removal of SCP-XXXX. After 4 hours the area exposed to XXXX will enter a limp state in which subjects complain about having no feeling from the area. 6 hours after exposure the effected area will start to scar at which point the subject re-gains feeling and is put through extreme agony. After the 14 hour mark area will begin to Rot. If the afflicted area is not amputated by the 10 hour mark, rotting will spread uncontrollably through the rest of the subject's body.

When in contact with non-organic material (SCP-2040 for example) the object will leave burn marks. However no further complications have occurred after burning.

Further information of the object is unknown as any object to enter SCP-XXXX eventually decays.

Test A

Subject: 1 Class D personnel and SCP-XXXX
Procedure: Class D personnel was instructed to enter SCP-XXXX's room. This was the first test conducted with both D-13047 and SCP-XXXX. He was instructed put on the socks and we would assess their uses.
Results: D-13047 willingly put the socks on and ran at the recorded speed of 147 mph for 3 minutes before becoming out of breath. Test was concluded and subject sent to cell. However, at 1100 hours subject complained of no feeling in feet or lower leg. Symptoms spread and at 0100 hours D-13047 was pronounced deiced at site-██.
Analysis: Containment procedures for SCP-XXXX are to be revised and re-classification of object is required.
