Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]
Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of ███ human cadavers located in a field in ██████, Sweden. Each of the components of SCP-XXXX floats a third of a meter off the ground, yet remain upright. Components of SCP-XXXX are tethered by a partially buried hemp rope that is wrapped around their leg. Attempts to locate the other end of each rope have been unsuccessful. When the rope is cut, the component held by the rope will float away into the air and eventually vanish at an unknown height.
From 9 pm and until 1 am SCP-XXXX will begin an audio broadcast of sound using an unknown medium henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 is always broadcast in the area of the field, however, it has been found that individuals in and outside the ██████ region are capable of receiving this broadcast. The closest case was in the village of ████, with confirmed cases found have been as far as Greater Stockholm.
Recorded forms of SCP-XXXX-1 have been identified as a form of music, often described as fitting within the Jazz genre. Subjects experience extreme difficulty recalling specific lyrics, though many are able to hum a it's melody after exposure.
It has been found that the majority of known subjects who experience SCP-XXXX-1 also experience an associated dream, with the other 5.46% experiencing no noteworthy side effects from hearing SCP-XXXX-1.
After experiencing SCP-XXXX-1 and it's associated dream, SCP-XXXX-1A, most individuals will not be able to hear SCP-XXXX-1 or experience the associated dream again. However certain individuals will continue to experience SCP-XXXX-1A events consistently every time they experience REM sleep during the night. Repeat SCP-XXXX-1A dream subjects typically are individuals either isolated socially or physically from human companionship. Almost all SCP-XXXX-1A subjects have no form of romantic companionship nor significant friendships.
Examinations of SCP-XXXX-1A subjects show unusually high dopamine output during REM sleep, coupled with extremely high levels of brain activity higher than brain activity associated with wakefulness.
Those that repeatedly experience SCP-XXXX-1A experience a set of side effects, with new side effects being experienced the longer the dreams persist. Doctor Isaac ██████████'s report on SCP-XXXX details these side effects, with a timeline on the progression of the associated condition, henceforth referred to as "Condition SCP-XXXX-1A".

Report on SCP-XXXX-1B
Researcher: Doctor Isaac ██████████, Clinical Psychologist
Condition SCP-XXXX-1A is unique among most conventional mental abnormalities in that it functions similarly to a biological disease, with predictable stages and fairly consistent effects. Fortunately for us, this also means that individuals with 1A can be spotted and treated.
- Stage 1: [2-3 Weeks] Subjects report a sense of listless boredom, even in activities that once amused them. Sleep deprivation has not yet begun to affect the subject.
- Stage 2: [4-5 Weeks]: Subject displays olfactory and gustatory hallucinations, reporting tastelessness in their favorite foods and a lack of scent from things like flowers, perfume or other positive scents. It would seem that they are still capable of scent and taste, as they report being able to taste bad food and smell unpleasant scents. Sleep deprivation is consistent with 0-1 hours of lost sleep.
- Stage 3: [7-8 Weeks]: Subjects will report audio hallucinations, hearing SCP-XXXX-1 in place of any music played in their vicinity. Sleep deprivation is consistent with 1-2 hours of lost sleep.
- Stage 4: [9-10 Weeks]: Subjects will report a form of an extremely impairing visual disorder, replacing most written words with audio transcripts of their previous night's dream. This makes reading functionally impossible. This includes words written by the subjects themselves. Sleep deprivation is consistent with 2-3 hours of lost sleep.
- Stage 5: [11-13 Weeks]: Subject is incapable of distinguishing what is on a screen from static. They will perceive anything displayed via a computer, television, or another form of LED screen as static.
