Description: SCP-XXXX is a 27-inch (~69 cm) tube television identical to the Sony Trinitron Television developed in the mid-1980's. SCP-XXXX functions as a normal television at all times excluding the 2200 hours time slot in which it automatically switches to Channel Five. Once switched, a generic nightly news intro plays describing the program as "Channel 5 News."
After the intro concludes the camera transitions into a shot of a white male in his late 30's sitting behind a desk. Surrounding him are pieces of paper, and each time he greets the audience simply as "D█████ E█████" otherwise referred to as SCP-XXXX-2 in all future documentation.
The program also contains two other reporters, one "B██████ C█████" — a white male who functions as the weatherman — given the designation SCP-XXXX-3, and "L████ S██████████" — a Hispanic woman who functions as a on-site reporter — given the designation SCP-XXXX-4.
Any attempt to locate the identities, locations, or current status of any members of the program, or to locate the origin of the broadcast signal has so far been unsuccessful.
For much of the program, SCP-XXXX-2 functions as if he is a television anchor for a large news network, covering a wide range of contemporary topics ranging from local to global importance. SCP-XXXX-2 will report on stories for the hour time slot he appears for, periodically switching to SCP-XXXX-4 for on-site reports, and once every program switching to SCP-XXXX-3 for a weather report for whatever local area SCP-XXXX is located in.
During the middle of each program, directly after the conclusion of the weather report by SCP-XXXX-3, SCP-XXXX-2 will begin a segment entitled "Cold Case Thawed" which focuses on cold case murders. During this segment, SCP-XXXX-2 will disclose in excruciating detail how and when the murder was carried out. In several such instances SCP-XXXX-2 will cut to SCP-XXXX-4 for an on-field report in which SCP-XXXX-4 will physically show where the body of the deceased individual is located and will go into great detail about some instance in the crime.
In all instances of "Cold Case Thawed" that have been reported to the local authorities, police were able to locate the deceased body, confirm the validity of the reports from SCP-XXXX in regards to how the murder took place, and have shown a conviction rate of 95% in a testing group of 20 people. The only person to escape conviction had committed a murder-suicide. His body was found nearby his victims and his death was also reported and shown in clear detail during an on sight report by SCP-XXXX-4.
