SCP-5000
Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Euclid Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 is non-hostile and immobile. The following containment procedures are primarily intended to prevent public disclosure of SCP-5000-S in order to avoid mass panic. As of today, SCP-5000 is enclosed within the designated territory of Campsite Valentine-1. All transmissions originating from SCP-5000 are to be continuously recorded by on-site receivers.
The region covered by SCP-5000s electromagnetic horizon is to be overseen by Task Force Valentine-1 patrols. No less than one hundred forty-four (144) IRT130 Military-grade Tactical Radio Jammers are to be constantly operated in a radially symmetric array around SCP-5000 as to prevent propagation of radio signals outside of the campsites perimeter. Civil trespassing of this area is to be insistently dismissed under the pretense of a nuclear testing ground. Disobedience is to be met with lethal force if necessary. Airspace above Campsite Valentine-1 is designated as an air exclusion zone and on-site military personnel are cleared to eliminate any unauthorized aircraft and drones.
Description: SCP-5000 is an electromagnetic dipole constructed from an unidentified metal composite, located on the peak of a small mountain in a remote region within the Siberian Taiga, approximately 75 km northeast of the village of [DATA EXPUNGED]. The dipole resembles an erect cylinder with a diameter of 15 cm, measuring 26.5 m from the ground up. The physical structure of SCP-5000, albeit unconventional for this purpose, enables SCP-5000 to function as a shortwave radio transmitter. Although SCP-5000 is not connected to any observable source of electricity or radio station, it has been continuously emitting a constant 1██ dBµ radio broadcast on a frequency between ███ MHz and ███ MHz since the time of discovery. This broadcast is referred to as SCP-5000-S. The origins of SCP-5000 remain unconfirmed.
SCP-5000-S is characterized by a formatted series of decimal digits vocalized by a child between the ages of 7 and 10 in the Church Slavonic language1. The series of digits transmitted through SCP-5000-S appears to follow a regular pattern: The numbers seem to be arranged into sequences of 24 digits each, where each sequence has been identified as being associated with a catastrophic event involving major loss of human life. The digits in every sequence are formatted to represent the date and time of occurence23, as well as the number of casualties involved in any such event. The transmission of all sequences lasts ███ hours, after which the entire series is repeated with slight alterations (See Addendum 5000-a). With every digits vocalization lasting exactly one second, the information contained within one iteration of SCP-5000-S amounts to a total number of █████ event recordings.
