Item #: SCP-5000

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 is to be locked in a safe in Area 32. SCP-5000 is not to be unlocked unless by unanimous agreement by the O5 council. Researchers who have inspected the contents of SCP-5000 are to be issued Class A amnestics after inspection. Research regarding the contents of SCP-5000 is currently suspended.

Description: SCP-5000 is a collection of tablets and scrolls carbon-dated to be at least predating 1285 BCE. SCP-5000 details mathematically the theories of fractal image encoding, the quantification of infinity, energy to mass conversion, light-speed travel and time travel, and others.

Scientific analysis of instances of SCP-5000 have indicated they are composed of an element with a periodic number 354. This indicates that carbon-dating is inaccurate due to the unique element that comprises SCP-5000.

SCP-5000 is written in an unknown language that has been determined to have roots in Latin, Old Chinese, and Sumerian pictographs.
The tablets and documents comprising SCP-5000 are hereby listed as SCP-5000-1 to SCP-5000-23.
SCP-5000-1, "the Second Rosetta Stone" is a solid element-354 tablet that details how to read the language inscribed (hereby referred to as SCP-5000-a).
SCP-5000-2 is a scroll detailing the fractal image encoding.
SCP-5000-3 details the quantification of infinity. It introduces a fourth axis on the three dimensional Cartesian plane, called [DATA EXPUNGED], which allows asymptopes in functions to connect.
SCP-5000-4 details energy to mass conversion.
SCP-5000-5 details light-speed travel. An addendum (hereby referred to as SCP-5000-5a) expands on this to explain time travel, using Klein bottles to manipulate photons into chronons.
SCP-5000-6 explains black holes.
SCP-5000-7 explains magnetic monopoles.
SCP-5000-8 [DATA EXPUNGED].
SCP-5000-22 appears to detail how to build and create anomalous objects. The information coincides with SCPs such as SCP-[][][].
SCP-5000-23 appears to detail how to destroy anomalous objects or deprive them of their anomalous properties.

When Foundation researchers attempted to decode the contents of SCP-5000, it was discovered that the grammar of SCP-5000-a does not have any punctuation whatsoever. When translating SCP-5000-a using SCP-5000-1, the resulting message can be interpreted in any number of ways depending on where punctuation is inserted. Furthermore, all are equally valid.

SCP-5000 does not appear to have any anomalous properties. However, researchers and D-class personnel that have decoded and/or read the contents of SCP-5000 have exhibited traits consistent with a memetic (see test log). It is hypothesized the contents of SCP-5000 are beyond the human comprehension.
