SCP-??? Is a big crater lake in Germany. The forest close to SCP-??? does not have any animals or insects. SCP-??? appeared in 1978 in a forest where most people did not know about. The people who did had never seen the lake before. The crater is thought to be from an atomic test The crater is thought to be from a meteorite. Subjects who enter SCP-??? will experience stings in several limbs. Staying inside for longer than half an hour the water will cause double as much pain. Subjects that have entered the water for over an hour had pain but there is no known case of someone dying (Class-D or civilian). Hallucinations can occur, subjects talk about ''The Mariana Trench,'' which refers to the deepest point in the ocean currently known. Subjects hear whale sounds while diving in the lake, which seems unrealistic as there could not possibly be whales inside of the crater lake.

When putting riding underwater cameras in the lake, it just seems to go deeper endlessly. It did not have any success to try and dry out the lake.
