Out-of-universe title: Fraudulent Gelatin

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a containment locker of Site-██, the locker being 10m x 10m x 5m and at room temperature. In the center of the room is a small table with a standard bowl. The table is outfitted with a motion detector. No other special containment procedures are needed.

The bowl holds 15 instances of SCP-XXXX and is to be closely monitored at all times. If any movement is detected, the vacuum chamber will be examined and proper measures will take place to prevent any instances of SCP-XXXX to escape containment.

All discovered, uncontained SCP-XXXX unaffiliated with Site-██ are to be incinerated unless the lead researcher, Dr. ██ ██████ states otherwise.

Description: SCP-XXXX are multicolored anomalous cubes of jelly. Strangely, examinations of SCP-XXXX show that its chemical composition simultaneously matches any non-anomalous jelly that SCP-XXXX is compared with. It is unknown how this is possible, however, it is theorized that SCP-XXXX manually changes its own chemical composition in order to disguise its anomalous properties.

SCP-XXXX become mobile on 1 condition, the temperature of its environment must be approximately 1.6 degrees Celcius and below. When conditions are met, SCP-XXXX will suddenly shudder and gain movement. Locomotion is provided by shifting weight manually by SCP-XXXX, this results in a sliding movement with periodic halts in movement per each shift. The fastest speed ever recorded is 1.1 miles per hour. SCP-XXXX is capable of traveling through any mass, provided that the temperature of the mass is appropriate to SCP-XXXX's requirements for movement. If SCP-XXXX determines that its current location is satisfactory, it will not shudder in accordance with the temperature. All testing has determined that it is impossible for SCP-XXXX and normal jelly to be differentiated once SCP-XXXX is satisfied.

Despite being chemically identical to non-anomalous jello, the only known way to completely dispose of SCP-XXXX is by incineration. Alternatively, mechanical digestion of SCP-XXXX can damage it as normal, assuming, it is a human mouth masticating SCP-XXXX. All other organisms will find it as unappetizing and will not willingly consume it.

The nature of SCP-XXXX is entirely parasitoid1 and mostly documented. SCP-XXXX will locate a suitable area to wait for a host, this is typically an All-you-can-eat Restaurant that provides cubes of jelly in their menu. Utilizing their anomalous properties, SCP-XXXX will easily penetrate the facilities in question and assimilate with any non-anomalous jelly it can find and effectively replace them, changing color and chemical composition as necessary. It is unknown where the additional mass gained goes as it has been observed that SCP-XXXX doesn’t become heavier after assimilation. Instances of SCP-XXXX have been shown to remain immobile in locations that have left them in disuse for approximately a week. SCP-XXXX has been discovered in ██ locations, many of which are located in Russia. Most discoveries seem to revolve around the rural town of ██████, suggesting that ██████ is the origin of SCP-XXXX.

Once consumed by any person, SCP-XXXX will showcase their most dangerous anomalous abilities. All hosts are to be identified as SCP-XXXX-1 from now on. X-rays have shown that consumed SCP-XXXX will reform in the stomach and are seemingly unharmed by stomach acid. SCP-XXXX will remain in the stomach and will resist all attempts to regurgitate them. No anomalous properties will occur in SCP-XXXX-1 until approximately 1 month. After this, SCP-XXXX-1 will suddenly separate themselves from all persons by subtly cutting ties with them.

Once a state of isolation has occurred, SCP-XXXX-1 will find a suitable location and lay on their sides in the fetal position. All life signs will abruptly halt except for the heart. The heart will continuously pump blood even if it is no longer provided with the necessary nutrients in order for continued pumping. It is unknown what the purpose of keeping the heart alive will accomplish as it is shown that instances of SCP-XXXX don’t utilize this blood in order to reproduce. Research is ongoing for what the blood is used for. SCP-XXXX-1’s body will seemingly never rot and is seemingly preserved for the use of SCP-XXXX, it has been noted, however, that the body of SCP-XXXX-1 will mimic the temperature of any location that the host’s body currently resides in effectively making SCP-XXXX-1 invisible to infrared sensors. If the parasitoid is not removed by surgery before this point, the infection will progress unhampered and will become fatal.

After SCP-XXXX-1 has ceased life signs, SCP-XXXX currently residing in the stomach will begin to release chemicals that permeate the entire body of SCP-XXXX-1. These chemicals will penetrate the cell walls of all surrounding body cells and begin producing the same chemicals. Infected body cells will be classified as SCP-XXXX-2. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will remain inactive and will not perform any past functions that had been served previously before the host’s death. Depending on the general size of the host, the entirety of SCP-XXXX-1’s cells will be infected and SCP-XXXX-2 will begin clumping together transforming into more instances of SCP-XXXX. Due to the fact that there may not be enough material for the complete formation of SCP-XXXX, all incomplete instances of SCP-XXXX will separate from complete SCP-XXXX seeking out other incomplete SCP-XXXX. If successful, both instances of SCP-XXXX will fuse and excrete the remaining unwanted mass. This process continues until the entirety of SCP-XXXX-1’s body has been converted into SCP-XXXX. The remaining incomplete SCP-XXXX, if any, will separate from the pile of jelly that was once SCP-XXXX-1’s body and combust. The remains of the incomplete SCP-XXXX will lose all anomalous properties even if introduced to enough human flesh, SCP-XXXX, or non-anomalous jelly. It is at this moment where the cycle restarts and all complete instances of SCP-XXXX attempt to find more hosts.

Addendum XXXX-1: Note on SCP-XXXX’s intelligence.

During a containment breach that went unnoticed on █/██/20██, 4 instances of SCP-XXXX were discovered to have escaped containment. It is unknown how the instances managed to escape containment without tripping the motion sensors. Subsequent interviews with security and staff diverged no usable information on the whereabouts of the missing instances of SCP-XXXX. Approximately 3 hours after the breach, agents █████ and ████ discovered 3 instances of SCP-XXXX in the site's temperature control room and managed to lower the site's internal temperature far below normal. Approximately 1 month after the initial breach, Agent ███████ was found to have disappeared. The next day, Agent ███████ was found lying on their side in a disused storage vault. When discovered, Agent ███████ was in the process of being converted into instances of SCP-XXXX. All recovered instances of SCP-XXXX were incinerated and a security team was immediately stationed at the temperature control room.

This was the first time that SCP-XXXX displayed complex problem solving, suggesting sapience. It is believed that SCP-XXXX orchestrated the breach and allowed 1 instance of SCP-XXXX to enter the living quarters of Agent ███████ and entered her body while she slept.
